Please correct m if am wrong, none of the skill or equipment actually give a percentage of the resistance they represent. Only champion system give percentage resistance, but even if you maxed all it will still be a quite long way to 40%

You never make it up... You will always take 50% more fire damage
Say there are two players at the fire resistance cap (32500 at V14) one is a vampire

A non vamp getting hit with 10,000 fire damage, and the resistance will reduce it by 50% to 5000
A vampire getting hit with 10,000 fire damage, will get increased by 50% to 15,000, then the resistance will reduce it by 50% to 7,500

So even at the mitigation cap (50%) the vampire will always take 50% more damage from fire then a non vampire. (if both players have the same fire resistance)

But if a player A (non vamp) has no resistance, and Player B (Vampire) has two rings with fire resistance on, gold version)
They they will take about the same damage (the vampire still taking a bit more)

    Hmm, well that sucks.

And since vDSA, trials and vCOA have lots of fire..... there are almost no end game vampires. But EVERYONE is a werewolf instead for the free stamina regen buff

End game, vampire are dead (well undead)

Grab some rings that give you the attributes you want (Magic, Stamina or Health) and then add some Kuta/Rekuta based Fire Resist Glyphs. In fact, Resists are about the only thing that is worth putting a Kuta on now a days.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I'm a vampire, and you can have the fire resistance enchant on jewelry, and also spend some champion points there.

As it was said, you will take 40% extra fire damage, but if you have enough champion points, and enough jewelry glyphs spent on it, you CAN mitigate the extra fire damage, even to the point you take around 10% or so less fire dmg than normally would.

The only trick is that if a non-vamp uses the same items would make way better use of it, like, the vamp would get hit for like 9100 dmg, while the non-vamp would get hit for 5~6k

This is not true due to the undeath skill unlocked @ vamp 7 up to 33% damage mitigation when at 50% I guess it won't count if you are one shot though.

In all honesty I wouldn't worry bout it to much I have done all the content less hm trials as a vamp with no fire resist gear just don't stand in red stuff and avoid fire mages charged attacks and you'll be fine. if your using slots for mitigation it means your losing damage or healing potential.

Is there any way to check what your mitigation has reached 50% as to not waste anymore points in resistance after that?
