Is there anything on the Crown Store worth buying?

It depends on your own definition of "worth". Those things are all in the store and it's free to browse. If you don't find anything interesting then just don't buy anything. Or just wait for DLCs.

I have just returned to the game after a long while and have 800 crown points to spend. Looking at the Crown Store, there isn't really anything that grabs my attention. Everything seems quite pricey and most of it is just vanity stuff. Can anyone tell me what items are actually worth buying or should I just spend my crowns on something cosmetic?

I like the Botox dogs. I'm saving my sub Crowns for a Scroll of Canine Facial Expression.

I'm hoarding crowns for the next DLC, but I did buy the red striped guar because my NB looks good on it.

wait, you have to spend crowns on DLC?

VR16 NB, Stam build, Max all crafts.

Azuras & Trueflame. Mostly PvP, No alts.

Love the Packers, Bourbon, and ESO...one of those will eventually kill me.

    Yes.
Unless you are a subscriber with an active subscription.
Even if you are a subscriber it is worth saving in case you want to cancel.
You do not keep DLC access if you cancel a subscription.

I guess I'm a bit hopeful, got a char to VR6 and hated the Cadwell stuff so left and tried a few crap mmo's , resubbed when TU came out (hoping that something would change, started a new character but got very put off by the bad press in the forums about lag and lack of anything changing in the near future)
I'm still subbing and collecting crowns 'hoping once again' that the game will be supported better by ZOS in the future and VET content will change, DLC will be worth it.... And generally my money will be worth it in the long run.

I guess I'm a bit lucky that I can afford it ( I only sub to one mmo at a time) but have just started the free trial to FFXIV so am at a bit of a quandary at the moment.

    TLDR:
So to answer the OP , something needs to make me think about continuing accruing crowns or I might change loyalties again (and I really want ESO to succeed, cos despite everything I love the game 'generally' but cosmetic stuff just doesn't warrant subscription.)

Crown Kits are a decent item, as repair kits are pretty expensive in-game and these apparently repair all pieces.
Potions and Soul Gems are pointless, they are far easier to obtain through regular play.
Outfits and Pets depend on personal taste. I'm not interested in most of the current ones myself.
Motifs are a decent choice if you want to save in-game gold, but aren't too hard to obtain on their own.
Resets aren't worth it unless you're very end-game where resetting everything costs 15k each time.

There's only two things I'd consider truly enticing:
    -The Imperial Edition
-The Adventurer Pack or whatever its called which gives the ability to be any race in any alliance.

LOL You're joking right? Haha no. I just looked. I had no idea they put those in there. I've looked at the store all of once and it wasn't there or I just didn't see it. They should advertise that with a screen pop or something. :s JK

Played this game since beta - while trying to open every visible container, I have only found 1 (ONE) dwemer page... Abysmal..

At least now i can get a rare motif every month, nothing else to spend my sub crowns on, so why not.

Nope, this crown store is terrible. Reminds me of Everquest loyalty store or whatever, that too was terrible.

Game needs to follow GW2 lead again and look at GW2 gem store and start making things similiar to GW2 gem store.

Like GW2 gem store has TONS of cosmetics, outfits armor. The cosmetics and armor, are ACTUALLY really really nice too.

When I look at this crown store, I see some outfits, just stupid that's all I have to say about those outfits. GW2 actually makes outfits and armor that players find visually appealing. This game, its like unappealing, not even worth the crowns. I wouldn't even buy it in game with gold either, thats how bad it is. Stop wasting your time making crap nobody wants and make stuff PEOPLE WANT.

I see threads every week TELLING YOU exactly what people want, but they go ahead and make something stupid instead. Next they implement probably be something dumb like, Blacksmith outfit!!! 1000 crowns!! buy now!! lmao

I'd rather have a suit and tie, a Men in Black look rather than some blacksmith outfit.

You bought the soul gems? Is it unlimited or consumable? Like 10 of them for 500 crowns?

If its like 10 of them for 400 crowns you got ripped off. AP is easy enough to get, just buy the grand soul gems from AP vendor for crying out loud LOL.
    http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Crown_Store

Tried looking up AP for soul gem, I believe you get a filled one for 500 AP, that's like chump change. Very weird how NO ONE has a site with full listing of AP vendor prices.
    http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Alliance_Points

This is an old thread, I assume you didn't have option to buy soul gems at this time, but if you read it... Backs my point that people have too much AP to know what to even do with it. If I recall, soul gem FILLED grand soul gem, they go for 500 AP... People have hundreds of THOUSANDS of AP, 500 AP for soul gem is chump change... 400 crowns for 10 soulgems is a RIPOFF, the game RIPPING you off. If I recall correctly you can buy repair kits too, maybe not, I know for soul gems you can buy them and filled.
    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/138383/soul-gem-purchase-with-alliance-points

But I guess to each there own. I'm a Libra so I look carefully into something before making a decision.
Stuff that is like a repair kit 10 of them for 400, that doesn't appeal to me.
Stuff that appeals to me is nice looking costumes. I just checked, and guess what, lo and behold they have chef and blacksmith outfits... The most worthless outfits in the game. Funny how I just talked about that in a previous post. 400 crowns is too much for that garbage, should be more like 100 crowns. Know what, I probably still WOULD NOT buy them even at 100 crowns.

Theres NOT ONE outfit I like in the crown store... Yet in GW2 there are SEVERAL outfits I want.
Game needs to stop being narrow minded and provide stuff PEOPLE want and not what's strictly related to the game.

If people want to go fight in mini skirts, go slap a 1000 crowns on it
If people want to go fight with massive spiked shoulder pads... put it in crown store and slap 1000 crowns on it.
People buy those. They want those.

Putting a blacksmith and chef outfit... NOBODY wants. It'd have to be a bargain to get a good amount of people to buy it.

Even the food and drink. Max level is vet rank 10? Not V14? I'm gonna save my crowns for when someone worth it comes along. I'm literally handed potions from playing the game, I have stacks upon stacks.

The mounts in crown store I would say are ok to buy.
The pets in crown store I would say are ok to buy too.
I wouldn't buy those skill and attribute refund skills for 700 crowns. Way too much crowns lost there. And from what I get from the community "I don't know what to spend my gold on, I have too much".. I'm just going to keep doing that with gold, 2k gold for respect is good deal for me.. 700 crowns lost for a respect, that's the game trying to rip me off.
The Motifs, I'll get them via the game, something I look forward to playing the game, stupid to buy them in crown store, takes away the fun.
DLC is what I'm waiting for with my crowns.

If you ask me, DLC should be free like GW2.
When they release an expansion THAN it should be charged crowns or real dollars.

When I think of a crown store I think of the GW2 store, just a place to buy cosmetics and outfits, better harvesting stuff, better chance at getting magical items stuff.

What I DO NOT expect to pay for in the crown store is actual game content, like thieves guild.
That stuff better be free or part of the next expansion.

GW2 didn't sell its dry top, silverwastes, living stories, new pvp zones, new wvw zone edge of the mists in there gem store... That's just dumb. Don't fall into that category TESO.

Like I tell people in GW2 tpvp, if you get greedy we (ESO) will lose. (in reference to we winning midfight and everyone wants to rush far and get owned due to respawns rather than waiting and keeping our 2v1 3v1 3v2 our advantage fights, yall wouldn't know if you didn't play GW2 tpvp).

    Nice ... in theory. But:

1-I don't do PvP, when in Cyrodiil it's to adventure with a mixed group (vet & non-vet) 'cause that's the only place we can do it. So I don't go for, nor worry about AP. And pretty much don't have any. Had it not been for a V-teen-something jerk, I wouldn't have needed them anyway.

2-In order to use a normal "grand" soul gem, I would have had to be 40+ level, which I was not.

3-It was nice, and "convenient" for me to just click onto the crown store - mid-delve - and be able to rez my buddy. So for me it was worth it.

Ya that's why I said to each there own.
IDK what you are, but I'm a Libra, so I'm always doing cost vs benefit type thing in my head.

But if you don't PvP you can still get AP, I see people come into PvP all the time and ask for AP for gold trades.
Another thing, you can use ANY soul gem. It's just, if someone is V14 and your lvl 10... the V14 guy dies... You cannot rez him with a lesser soul gem, HOWEVER if you die, the V14 can rez you with a lesser soul gem.. You need a grand soul gem to rez the V14. soulgems dictate what level range people you can rez, its not you have to be V14 in order to use a grand soul gem.

Yes its convinent, and depends on person to buy soul gems on the spot like that.. But truth be told, someone mailed me 20 grand soul gems filled when I was complaining how I couldn't rez someone in PvP. Pretty much people gave them to me like candy. He told me, make sure you help someone else out when you can.. Not sure if he meant give some newb I meet someday some grand soul gems or just literally rez people. I assume help some newb out in the future.

    I'm still lvl 25 btw.

Also, the crown store uses marketing techniques to spice up the soul gem "by saying 'can rez anyone of any level'" pretty much means its a grand soul gem.

If I didn't already have the any race in any alliance upgrade I'd buy the Adventurer's Pack to get it.

I've also bought the White Mane Horse and the Panther pet. I like having a variety of mounts and the pet fits one of my characters perfectly (she's had a panther pet/familiar in every game where it's possible since Neverwinter Nights 1).

I'll probably buy some of the other mounts at some point, I like having a variety to choose from. I'd also like to get some type of dressy outfit, not the wedding dress, but some kind of fancy non-armor outfit my characters can wear in town.

Why would you call the other guy a jerk? It's a PVP zone, you have to expect that if you see someone from another alliance they're going to try to kill you. That doesn't make him a jerk. Being higher level and going after a lower level player doesn't make him a jerk either - that's why lower level players get battle leveling: so they have a fighting chance, and so high level characters can attack them without it being totally unfair.

I mean, I really don't PVP, but when I go into Cyrodiil to do PVE stuff, I fully expect to get slaughtered by enemy players at least once during my time there. I definitely wouldn't call them jerks for doing it.

Well, partly because I am a self-and-friends centered person who reacts negatively when playing an aggressive character and am in a situation like the above and it's one of the sweetest characters in the party that was targeted first.

Partly it's because we were in a public delve - I get that on the battle field there is the instant "kill the red bar" reflex and I've done that (and then backed away) myself.

Partly it's because I'm so frikken frustrated at ZoS for not giving some kind of "healer/white flag" option so that surrendering to the other side can still get them the experience points they apparently crave.

Partly it's because we were in a public delve - I get that on the battle field there is the instant "kill the red bar" reflex and I've done that (and then backed away) myself.
Sure, but you're still enemies. When Indiana Jones ran into Nazis inside the Grail temple, they were still enemies and behaved as enemies even though they weren't on the battlefield, but were in a delve instead. OK, maybe that's a terrible analogy, but it's what came to mind...

Partly it's because I'm so frikken frustrated at ZoS for not giving some kind of "healer/white flag" option so that surrendering to the other side can still get them the experience points they apparently crave.
Hmm, that's an interesting idea. My first thought is that it would be easily abused to give people essentially free AP, but there are probably controls that could be put in place to prevent that. I don't know enough about PVP to say anything more about whether that idea is feasible or not, but I do find it intriguing.

I mean, I really don't PVP, but when I go into Cyrodiil to do PVE stuff, I fully expect to get slaughtered by enemy players at least once during my time there. I definitely wouldn't call them jerks for doing it.

You are wonderfully mature and setting a good example that I absolutely should follow.
