How to balance the (weak) Magicka Templar

    The way I see templar skills...there is no hope as the main problem in my opinion is in the animation of the skills doesn't matter if everything becomes insta cast..almost everything has long animation..at least longer than half a sec :<

    My Magicka Templar is pulling 10-12k with Impulse alone??? And he's only v6 :sunglasses:

    and you think thats alot?? I can pull 30k+ aoe and my best was 64k with steel tornado thanks to reapers mark and some dk using talons :p.

    12k is very low.

    As a healer I can easily dish out 6-7k dps while tossing heals. That's not breaking a sweat. Not sure what to say other than talk to some guildies about gearing and what they do for dps. I like the class as it is. It's certainly not weak.

    So, for you, being able to put out a mediocre 7k dps means Templar are fine?

    - Make Solar Barrage instant cast (like impulse)
    - Make one morph of Radiant Destruction to be like Blinding Flashes was
    - Make the other morph of Blazing Shield (the non-booming one) scale off magicka
    - Faster projectiles for Dawn's Wrath
    Note that we mean remove Solar Barrage's GCD.

    Radiant Ward needs to scale on total of health and magicka for tanks and casters. Let blazing shield scale on stamina.

    Why is everyone talking about how THIS needs buffs or THAT needs nerfs. I think the game is fairly balanced right now and Magicka Templar is Certainly NOT bad at the moment and nor is anything else. The only things that need sorting out at the moment are racial passives.

    I DPS at around 5-6k but I heal at the same time. I agree we need more for strict DPS builds but only if Jesus Beard gets a nerf.

    I would like a drain Magicka type effect instead for a channeled ability.

    I'd also like it to be less effective for Stamina builds. Stam builds always have 100% magicka left at the end of a fight.

    Lastly, range. I've never been killed by a Jesu's Wrath at close range, as in, I can see it or from in a duel. It can easily be avoided but not when you take 3 in the back from 28m away. It's the new cowards choice, I don't want to be branded as one of these 1 button spammers as I love my Templar.

    Most refer to DPS as single target DPS. If you're using Impulse you'll be hitting multiple targets. I've hit 36k DPS with AoE.

    please dont make dark flare instant cast like frags -.-
    it will be most op skill in the game. if u cast an eclipse before it cant be reflected and it gives empower as well >.> no. just no.
    removing cc immunity from jabs or making the enemy imune to only jabs knockback is ok.
    also make eclipse a debuff that needs to be cleansed not able to CC break it.
    sun fire and dark flare projectiles faster is a good idea though

    If you've been paying attention to some discussions and polls, most people agree that Magicka Templars are weak, so I'll be offering some balance tips.

    1. Aedric Spear

    - Puncturing Strikes: remove CC immunity or increase the damage
    - Piercing Javelin: Increase the damage on all its morphs

    2. Dawn's Wrath

    - Sun Fire: increase the projectile speed
    - Solar Flare and Dark Flare: increase the projectile speed and (for Dark Flare) give Dark Flare a 20% instant cast chance (like Crystal Fragments).
    - Backlash: slightly increase the maximum damage
    - Eclipse: lower the magicka cost with 400

    3. Restoring Light

    - Healing Ritual: Give this ability and its morphs a 20% chance to instant cast when previously used another Restoring Light ability.

    -20% chance to instant cast won't really do it for Healing Ritual. You'd come out better just casting healing springs for less RNG.

    -I agree with the instant cast idea for Solar Flare/Dark Flare. The buff that allows Crystal Frag to become instant cast should be turned into a streamlined buff like Empower and all other buffs, and then applied to skills across all classes.

    -ZOS doesn't often undo something they did. The CC immunity won't be removed from Puncturing Strikes. I would be okay with just increasing the CC duration to that of a normal CC or changing it to a 50% snare or 4 second immobilize.

    -I would like to see a full rework on Piercing Javelin. Aurora Javelin in particular. The distant modifier needs to be removed and replaced with something else.

    I want templars to be buffed just like sorcerers...I mean cmon sorcerers have been buffed to tears. evreyone here on forums that cry about sorcerer low dps or bad at pve is really just trolling.
    lots of guys in my guild are rolling sorcerer and wear the fotm spell dmg set up.
    Blazin shield should get buffed more dmg shield please !!! let it scale out of somthing thats not health lol.

    Before they buff us, just FIX the current skills, then relook at it

    Focused Charge (why does it have a GCD after you charge!)
    Eclipse (when it reflects a spell, it triggers a GCD on the templar!!!)
    Solar Barrage (triggers empowerment but does not apply to AOE's)
    Sun Fire and Solar Flare (the travel time of theses spells)
    Breath of Life (consistent delay after activation)

    Once the above 'issues' are fixed, then lets look at the spell damage issues.

    But the way, anyone been using Dark Flare, the damage buff now effects itself, so casting is a few times in a row and it can critical for 17k which is not bad. If Dark Flare had a chance to instance proc, it would almost be the ONLY spell I cast.... which would be an issue in itself
