The only thing I know is that I join with zergs and I'm 99% waiting while the people shot with range abilities and catapults, if not areas and more areas. Then after wait doing nothing we go in and seems that everybody wants to kill because I don't even know if I'm hitting who..

I can't initiate because I die in 2 seconds if not instant, that's a suicide. Solo is also not recommended, because people usually go in group.

I'm a dragon knight with two hand and one hand/ shield.. I play this game for the pvp but when I go in cyrodiil I'm bored doing nothing. I don't feel is me helping, tanking or killing.

Some suggestions about pvp? Should I reroll to some range class or aoe damage?

    1) Go to your game options (press escape, go to settings and then to interface) and set your indicators to display which alliance the enemy are from.

This will put a red/blue/yellow sign above their head.

Make sure you set this to display for ALL alliances, its far easier to work out who those people are without havng to work out if they are your own team first.

This alone makes it much easier for people new to pvp.

    2) Join a guild

This is a multi-player game. Therefore playing solo without having a soloing capable charactrer is never going to be fun. Any class can solo, but you need to know what your doing. Get this experiance from playing as part of a group, preferably a group that uses voice chat of some kind.

    3) Get some form of ranged weaponry

What are you going to do to the people on the walls shooting you if you cant shoot back?

Don't join zergs! Honestly, if you don't find it rewarding to be part of an angry mob steamrolling everything in its way until it collectively wipes, stay away from this form of PvP. For some things, you might still hang around those zergs, e.g., when you're about to travel to a keep far away. But, once you got there, you have many options besides zerging.

On the other hand, if you find it rewarding to be part of an angry mob etc., you need to equip a few AOE skills. When the zerg has its way, there simply isn't enough time (or need, for that matter) to focus a single enemy and engage in skillful fighting.

Personally, I don't zerg. Sure, I'm not very successful in PvP, but I have fun most of the time (unless I get steamrolled by an angry mob).

I was so happy doing pve with my DK melee... but I feel me useless in cyrodiil... I think I will respect to something more usefull, like aoe damage or one-shot stamina nightblade... or something like that...

I just want to do something with my class and not only use catapults. The most part of the time I wait and see how people shot from one side to the other with magics, arrows and catapults. Then when we go in, we rush or I instant die. This disappoints me... makes me bored.

I want to do something! I want to help! do damage, kill or something! What do you suggest me to do to be someone in cyrodiil, what class? spec?

i sincerely want to help, i do, but i can't help but feel... are you trolling?

BUT let's ignore our feelings and move on.

Here are my tips (btw, there are a LOT of good beginner's guide to PvP if you just care to search on youtube or google whatever)
    1. Your first job: not to die. So if you're not dying, you're doing well.
    2. Your second job: hurt somebody. Preferably until they/he/she/it/all of them dies. Look for people who has the other alliance's icon on their head. Also health bar is red instead of blue/green-ish like your buddy's.
    3. To help do your jobs, you need to be with a GROUP. Not necessarily a ZERG (loose definition of a LOT of people stacking on each other, moving as a single unit like a swarm), but just avoid going solo before you get comfy with your surrounding.
    4. Easy way to damage people: ranged. Go pick up a staff, or a bow, or use your class skills that allows you to hurt things from a distance.
    5. Easy way to stay alive: do NOT travel solo. not yet. you'll get there. but not now. Just follow your friends/group/zerg, and do what they do WITHOUT extending yourself too far. You ARE an easy target. Let's try to hide that fact from your enemies.

Other tips involve more detailed things you can do and I really can't list them and you don't have to remember them like some sort of exam. Focus on the above, and experiment. It's OK to die. Just try not to die more often than you kill.

Some examples of specific things: go level your DK wings. I think it's under your Draconis tree or something. The one that repel (and return!) enemy's projectile. And go find attacks that are Area Effect so you don't have the trouble of aiming. Or if you stick to a group a lot, you can use an AoE heal/buff (such as Igneous Weapon), whatever help your group, helps you. So be nice. And then there's this things called "sieges"... look it up.

Bottom line: there's a curve. but as long as you don't show the obvious (you're an easy target), you will learn the ropes fast.

Sorry I don't speak perfect english.

When I say zerg, I say it, because for me, that my life is outside, not in the game, I can't dedicate time to make relationships with players. That's why I go in in cyrodiil and say /z lfg

Sometimes I'm in a organized group and sometimes not. I know how to play. We do always the same. We decide where to go and we take the lumbemill, farm etc. Is not that we crash our heads for nothing in front of a door without stop.

But for me is always the same... wherever we go, we need to assault and that means: "I shot you from here and you from there" and if a move a little bit in range, they just kill me.

So zerg or being in a group is almost the same, the only difference is fight that one fight for something or the other not.

My problem is, I can't find my role in cyrodiil, I do nothing, I just wait and wait, then die quick and get in my mount again. That's why I'm here asking to you, to explain me the pvp.

What should I do, which class, for me is not rentable wait in the backguards 5 minutes and then go in and die in lees than 1 minute, to then have to travel all the way again.

what you're getting into is a "PUG", not necessarily a "ZERG".

    Just so we're all clear.
Sometimes I'm in a organized group and sometimes not. I know how to play. We do always the same. We decide where to go and we take the lumbemill, farm etc. Is not that we crash our heads for nothing in front of a door without stop.

Now I understand your frustration. OK, here's a bit more tips from a somewhat graduated n00b myself...

    1. Range is king in PvP. So your secondary weapon need to be a ranged weapon. Level it. Get comfortable with it.

    2. Once you kill more than you die, you can try melee (or you can stick to range as MANY are doing). But there's a trick! Because you will need to extend yourself.
    a. You cannot overextend yourself. Meaning, don't go too far by yourself. Yes, you need to "go out there", but look at what everyone's doing. Don't go rushing to the left when the WHOLE party goes to the right. Yeah?
    b. Have a retreat plan. When you rush, think how far you need to chase the enemy until you can say to yourself "OK OK OK wait this is going nowhere, I need to get back to safety now...". Then KEEP to that limit! When you cross it, you are overextended. See #a above.
    c. When you extend, you need to do it FAST. So you CANNOT (!!!!!) simply run and chase somebody. BAD idea. Every player has a way to "jump". Sorc has their transportation thing, NB has their own rush, and DK has their chain pull. Weapon skills (like 2H) also has a way to "jump". You need to get comfortable with this. Pick one and start practicing.

So it really depends on what you WANT. Do you like melee? there's a way to do that. You like range? Easy. just learn to be effective at it. Or you just like to heal others? Definitely can do that. That's your role. Some roles trickier than others, but nothing's too hard at all.

PS: If you're in a group, and you die, you can still group chat (/g) and ask people to rez you. You NEED to be patient about it, but the wait is usually shorter than riding from the nearest keep to battle again......

I can't speak for DK, but I can share my experience with my NB, even though I am a bad pvper.

When first joining Cyro, I had the same situation. I charged in and tried to burst, and got chopped into pieces in less than a second. I finally changed my play style to fit into how a battle is fought, not how I want to.

    1. I pick up range weapons or skills, and don't be a hero.
    2. Damaging 30% of enemy's health is better than doing 90% and die.
    3. Play according to your strength. I am extremely squishy and I only put down my siege when I am in the middle. Gankers are coming from left and right. if I can't, I just sneak around and protect other siege players from gankers, and help with purging and siege bubble.
    4. Some subtle tactics which are commonly aligned, which also change from time to time due to changing of game mechanisms.

    For example.
    - against incoming zerg - pay attention to the zerg movement and where to place the caltrops. This may disturb the zerg formation and give the friendly group a chance to break the zerg.
    - against incoming zerg - pay attention how other players split up and hit from the tail. That is fun to kill the slow ones.
    - defending - there are people on the wall firing siege, sneaking from right/left and if the they are experienced, they will start to target the enemy close to me, and that is the time for me to hit and run as the siege will take 50% of the health already
    - defending - try to work with other sneaky players, most of time, we can sync up the attacks, bursts and run away.

After a few kills like this, you will annoy the enemies become the high valuable target, and the they will send 5-6 people to hunt you down with 10+ frags, and that is lots of fun.

P.S. Apologies for my bad English.
