This may sound really stupid but:
Are weapon enchants damaging to enemies of the same element?
For example, will a weapon enchanted with fire damage cause damage to a flame atronach? Or will a shock enchant cause damage to a storm atronach?

Supposedly, certain types of monsters have resistances to certain types of elemental damage.
