On console will items stack automatically when deposited into the guild bank?

I've yet to get an answer from any of the console beta players.

If it does auto-stack then will this also come to PC? If it doesn't, then should we be prepared for the hassle of withdrawing and depositing or is there another system in the works like the Roomba mod?

    Huh?
I just deported mats on PC and didn't have to stack anything...it did it automatically.

Please explain as Inthink I'm reading or understanding your question the wrong way. When playing the console beta...the inventory worked the same but in a different interface.

Mats stack automatically in your inventory but not when deposited into the guild bank. So say you had 40 hide in your inventory and 20 hide in the bank. When you depositing that 40 in the bank it wouldn't become 60 hide, you would have a stack of 40 and a stack of 20. Most of us use Roomba to fix this, and all it does is find the stackable items, withdrawal them (thereby stacking them) and depositing them again.

First, I think the OP means when depositing items into the guild bank.

Second, at one time there was a duplication bug that involved stacking items in the guild bank, and the devs figured out a workaround. They prevented you from stacking items in the the guild bank or from automatic stacking to occur when depositing items into the guild bank.

What I think the OP meant to ask was:
Do items automatically stack when depositing them into the guild bank?

You are correct, I mistakingly assumed it happened with both personal and guild bank. I changed the question title to reflect that.

What happens on PC happens on console as far as inventory. No changes in that respect which make sense when thinking about guild bank vs personal bank

Why would there be a difference like that between PC and console? I thought the game itself will be the exact same thing, but with a different UI and w/o addon support. Is this not the case?

It would be really nice if they fixed it. It would mean a lot less bank management.

It's different code base, so not necessarily same behavior even though it may be intended in most cases.

There are quite a few differences between PC and console, the most notable of which right now being no text chat on console. So it's not unreasonable to think they may make some quality of life changes to the console version due to the new control scheme and lack of addon support.

Aaahhhh...the game is literally exactly the same on console
There are logic based changes because you're going from a desk, keyboard, mouse with a monitor (based on average users) to a controller, headset, sitting further away from the TV (based on average users) so the logic is there but the game was exactly the same. Even saw the active bugs from PC lol the Templar lance getting stuck on my player after the animation stopped

ZOS stated new code was written for console, but we've no idea where it shares with PC and it doesn't except for what we see like UI and even then the backend code is hopefully the same.

No, I doubt it. I played the console beta on PS4 but didn't try anything guild related but it all felt the same.

The reason things don't auto-stack is due to a duping bug in the early game, instead of fixing the bug they just removed auto-stacking for certain banks and as much as I would love to see it fixed I haven't even seen it acknowledged in months.
