Lack of Schedualed Maintenance

Lets have a serious discussion about how this seems to pc players.

Personallly, i see this as the devs further ignoring pc gamers for console, this being it taken to the extreme.

perhaps im paranoid, but i cant ignore the message it sends to me

we pc gamers do not matter any longer

Yes, you are paranoid. There are tons of times over the last year when they have skipped the regularly scheduled maintenance. It literally means nothing, except that they don't have any particular need to bring the server down on that day.

I suppose if ZOS cared more about the conspiracy theorists than the people who are actually playing the game, then on those days when they don't have anything to do for maintenance they'd just shut the servers down anyway.

As @UrQuan said there have been many times that the normal maintenance has been skipped, I believe in the past it has gone a couple of weeks without maintenance.......

Admittedly by that time everyone is usually screaming for a server restart due to the large amount of 'weird and wonderful' game behaviour but missing just one, is a quite frequent occurrence.

well i'm sad to read that aswell. with all the major issues around (*** lag first of all) skipping maintenance it's a no sense. There still many active subscribers around that are waiting for ingame fixes. tnx

actually, they seem to actually HAVE an excuse for this one. they wanted to add the new crown shop items they had on display (the ordinator costume, fox pet, and palmino mount), so they pushed it back to thursday, may 7th (apperently the date is one their facebook page) to be able to do that.

Yeah, because let's have them take the servers down for maintenance whether or not they have any fixes that are ready for implementation! That makes total sense! I mean, it's not like fixes have to go through testing cycles in dev and QA environments before being pushed to live or anything... If they're not taking the servers offline it means that they aren't doing anything about any problems! Obviously!

Have to LOL, been a long time where we had complaint thread on no maintenance.

Lot of things could be going on in back ground. Personally I think they updated the server farm at some point and this is a long term test to see how they perform. No proof of that but am hoping and it makes some sense!

Still just speculation on my part.

Still. I did notice some annoying lag yesterday around the maintenance period, mostly delays in commands. That might be minor server issues or it might be just poor connection. It's hard to tell here.

There actually does appear to be some benefit to restarting the servers. I remember back when there was no weekly maintenance for several weeks, it started bugging stuff out for some reason. No idea why, but a restart clears a lot of bugged saved variables or something like that

Serious?!?! Some people complain when the servers go down.
"ZOMG What are they going to break now!?!?!?"

Now some people are complaining when the servers stay UP?
"ZOMG Why are they ignoring us?! Fix stuff!!"

There is some truth to that, but it doesn't mean that servers must be taken offline every week. Just when needed

Yeah definitely, it doesn't need to happen every week. But for sure once a month would help.

I've been stuck on main story quest bugs (can't drop quest on those to retry it) and a server maintenance fixed it. So they can be helpful in their own way.

for one thing, i have played many different mmo's. the fact is, lack of scheduled maintenance is a rarity in most.

also, as stated above, there are many upon many bugs that need fixing, saying everything is working find is a falsehood, im not saying your a liar, you may just be unaware just how many bugs there are at current

for those of you surprised i want the maintenance, truth is id rather weekly rather than monthly. monthly only further exacerbates teh 'flavor of the month' problems weve been having

game companies like trion restart their servers every morning, id like to see something similar done here.

and finally, at the very least, im glad im not the only one that has this paranoia of pc abandonment. all the current actions regarding console and lack of content further paint ZOS as abandoning the pc gamers. seriously, have a team work on something to throw us a bone, and im not talking about crown store items. i highly doubt there is a gamer out there that thinks "oooo look, a tiger mount, imma replay the whole game start to finish just so i can look at it"

im one of the players against the move to B2P, so no, im not to concerned about crown store crap, especially the crap they have been releasing. Honestly, until i can buy a dark seducer pet or a undead mount of some kind, im not gonna give a damn about whats in the crown store.

Maybe they were trying to maintain it while we're still on XD

That's pretty normal around here.

We've been treated to a patch every week since TU launched, that was the unexpected part

Now to start a speculation why was the maintenance missed.

My guess is:

The console beta showed one thing. WE NEED DA TEXT CHAT, F**K PC AND ALL START WORKING ON A TEXT CHAT FOR CONSOLES!

And most if not all of them have nothing to do with server maintenance/restart.

And these bugs have nothing to do with server maintenance/restarts. Server maintenance does not mean there will be a patch.

Server maintenance != patch/update.

I can remember the flame in the Forum, after releas/during OB, when they done a Maintenance two times the weak.
And a other time they had to do a emargency main. in premtime.
It was fun to watch the flame in the fromus back then

It was just the May Day holiday this week. That's all. Monday was a national holiday.

Maintainence is always cancelled if the Monday is a holiday.

I raised a ticket last week, because i couldn't que for cyro anymore... Once my client crashed during "Entering Cyrodiil" and after that every time i try to que for cyro it tells me that I'm already qued.
I called costumer support and they told me it'S an known error and will be fixed during the next maintenance. Until then i could join via travel to player or group-que...
unfortunately travel to player doesn't work for pop-locked which they are most times when i play.

So thank you for not having maintenance and basicly locking me out of cyro for another week.

What about next week, buisness as usual? will there be a server restart?
