Seem to have a memory leak as of the last patch.

I've been noticing that my game is starting out at 1,540,000 KB or so. Within an hour of gaming it has climbed to 1,900,000. If I keep playing for several hours it continues to climb until I shut the game down and restart it. I've tried disabling all of my adds to see if they were the root cause, which had no effect. Also updated my drivers, again no effect.
All of this seems to have started after the last patch.

Apparently this got worse recently, but it has been happening since at least 05/24/2014.0 -

ZoS support has indicated in other posts that a lot of new particle and animation effects were included in 1.6 / 2.0. One of the effects seem to be that the game is using a lot more memory - typically around 2.5GB for me on Win7x64 (where it used to previously run using about 1.8-1.9GB memory). I suspect this is related to degraded performance and more freeze issues since those patches came out, at least for those of us on what are now low-end systems.0
