Recently on Chillrend (EU) - Not sure if bug or intended...

Well, until yesterday I didn't even know it is possible to destroy inner keep stairs (that don't have "health" bars).

As group of AD players went into Blackboot on Chillrend (EU) yesterday late afternoon and managed to shoot several siege weapons at the stairs leading to the very top of the keep. After they destroyed it they stayed there for a good while and farmed stupid DC players with no intention at all to take the keep itself.
The only way to get up to them was using abilities that work as a gap closed as normal "jumping" was too short.

Don't get me wrong, I don't blame the group for doing it, I like it as it's creative and created a nice "WTF!? moment". But are there more parts in Cyrodiil that don't look like they are destroyable but in fact are?

Hahaha, It's a great way to farm AP. There's only a few guilds that do this, and even then it's rare.

It does have a health bar, it's called the 'Keep Roof'. Yeah it's working as intended and is a viable strat. Takes awhile to siege it down though.

It is also quite easy to jump up without any buffs or abilities.

Well, many of us didn't manage to jump up there, but of course the AD players managed to keep Caltrops, Eruption etc. up there so you were slow as sh** while approaching the stairs :)

Not really we did it 3 days ago and hardly half the people that tried to jump up actually made it.

NB's with ambush and DK's with Takeflight can do it easy enough. Tag one of the enemy and you are up, it they are letting you.

That's what I meant by saying you could go up there using a gap closer :)

The stairs don't have hp because you aren't sieging the actual stairs, in fact you siege the keep roof, which then collapses unto the strairs and breaks them in the process.

You can also siege the roof from the outside using trebs :)

Didn't get easier by people actively trying to knock you off, iirc. :D

The mechanic of destroying the stairs is pretty stupid, as it gives a lagball a place to hang out uninterrupted, but then again ZOS didn't anticipate lagballing so it's no worse than any other game mechanic

That says more about the people trying to make the jump then.

People have been doing this "roof farm" for months.

Usually its more trouble than its worth to pull off.

I believe this stems back to a time when it took a lot longer to siege a Keep. The idea is to siege the Keep roof from outside, to make enemies inside unable to get up top to defend with oils and other counter-siege.
AP farmers found another use for the roof mechanic.

I've seen the health bar before but never what happens when you knock it down. You repair the roof from the middle of the keep floor. This is hilarious.

Also hi Mano, come back to us. :(

*waits to see if Mano still checks forums*

And you just wanted to say this to necro a thread that's been dead for more than a year now? *cheers* ;)
