Are folks out there rolplaying versions of "goblins" here's mine, what's yours? [Auridon Spoilers]

AURIDON SPOILERS (minor)

I know that many folks have complained in various spots about having to do things "over". Long story short among the characters of me and my spouse are a family of altmer (the Caemaire) from Auridon who are members of the Order of the Dragon (grew out of the tattoo choice, and the fact that a class had the name "Dragon Knight" - weird how these things get away from you). Anyway, what with hanging (in game, and in character) with friends from real life, my altmer sorcerer Hisa Fae Caemaire has gone through Toothmaul Gully about 4-5 times. It's beautiful, it's thought-provoking and it's got a goblin tribe that has been treated like crap by the various political factions. They've been enslaved, then threatened by the folks who are supposed to "rescue" them, then they basically get robbed by an entrepreneurial minded Khajiit.

I didn't like the way that storyline resolved, so I play it a bit differently. I like this tribe - there are some really adorable characters. And the scene where the durzogs are playing with each other is really similar to the way my dogs play.

And eventually I decided I wanted to play a goblin from that tribe, who saw/admired the Caemaire, and became a member of the order.

There is no choice of "goblin" in the chatacter selection menu. So I attempted to create the world's ugliest scrawniest bosmer, thinking that should not be too far off. Here is Broken Branch Toothmaul getting inducted into the Mages guild:

And then discussing this elsewhere in the forums, met a wonderful person who actually made me some primal armor. So here is a couple of shots of my little Templar (yes, there's a story with that <g>) in full primal gear, having a nice chat with Sees-All-Colors:

There is a questline in EP where you can obtain a disguise item to make you appear as a goblin. All that really needs to be done is make one character there and have someone share the quest with you and you should get the disguise in your inventory.

Hi Scamandros! Yes, I have done that quest (initially I only had one character in EP). I don't want it as a disguise, I wanted to get as close as I could to playing a goblin character, not just disguising someone as one.

Although the other day I was looking closely at some goblins (recently did Fungal Grotto again) and at least a few have teeth that make me think of orcs.

The Pocket Guide of the Empire First Edition groups goblins, orcs, ogres, and gremlins all together as "goblin-ken."

Of course, we know that Orcs are aldmer who followed Trinimac and were warped by Boethiah... But I wonder if goblins aren't to orcs what Nords are to giants? Eg., smaller offshoots.

In Oblivion, Malacath even says that he protects and guides the goblins, who he considers his "little brothers" (presumably, along with orcs.)

Thanks for the info; I couldn't get into Oblivion so barely played it.

Maybe I'll look into the "rolling up an Orismer/Goblin" idea further.

Well... goblin girl sucks as a theif, mostly. She's gotten stopped many times and found out the hard way that apparently if you fail to successfully get away when pickpocketing a guard the penalty is "kill on sight"

However apparently pickpocketing is a way to learn about this new culture she finds herself in:

He is just a bit wild, but that's to be expected because he's such an awesomely huge enormous horse:

Now Goblin Girl isn't the ... tallest member of the order of the Dragons.

Here she is, next to one of the commanding officers, Akira Caemaire:

With her helm off, she seems shorter....

And as it turns out, horses scale to their riders. So despite the fact that she calls her horse "Big Brown Horse" these pics might shed some light on why her commanding officer tends to describe that same mount as "Little Brown Pony".
