How to put ring in second right slot?

I know there must be an easy answer, but it eludes me. Whenever I slot a ring it always goes in the first ring slot. Second slot contains old ring I want to get rid of.

Un-equip that ring either by hovering over it and pressing "e" or drag and drop a new ring over it.

If the slot is blank (hover & "e") a new ring will automatically go there. If it is not it will go over the first slot as it has been doing.

Drag and drop is the easiest way:

Either drag the item you want from your inventory to the slot you want.
Or, double click in the inventory, then drag a drop/swap the two ring positions. After that double click the 2nd ring you want equipped.

I clicked this thread expecting it to have been trolled to high heavens, but was pleasantly surprised to find it had not one, not two, but three nice, helpful answers already. Props to all three of you

Honestly, I have encountered very few trolls in the ESO community.
There's a few, sure, but most people seem to be very kind and helpful and I try to return that kindness whenever someone else needs help.

OP, it seems you are new. Just FYI, when you hit level 15 and try to access your 2nd bar, remember what you learned here. You have to equip a 2nd weapon first, use one of these methods.

Yeah, and you know what else? There's a thread in the "Players Helping Players" section right now titled "a question that will get me insulted" where the OP asks a question that he clearly expects people will think is stupid. Guess what? Nobody insults him in the thread - instead it's full of helpful answers, along with a few comments to not be afraid of asking questions.

Threads like that one and this one make me feel good about the ESO community. Yeah, naturally there are some trolls and jerks, but overall I think this game has a pretty good and helpful community.
