Eye Of The Ancients

Hi,
I've loved ESO since launch and most of it's content, however some things seem 'rushed'. I like most of the quests in this game but 'eye of the Ancients' just seems awful when you activate the Eye of the ancients. It sends a tiny beam to two completely EMPTY ships and puts a tiny amount of fire on them. Really??? That is just lazy.
Suggestions to improve the quest:
- Rather than letting the player see the eye in action I recommend fading the player's screen to white for a second and replacing both of the boat models with shipwreck models (You could use the ones in Khenarthi's Roost) This would actually make the Eye of the ancients seem useful, rather than pathetic.
- If the first 'fix' is too complicated you could simple populate the ships with a number of Enemies and when you activate the Eye of the ancients you could use the Fire death animation for all of them.

Please do something about this quest and others that are just as 'meh'.

When I first saw this ingame it really bugged me, like a lot. I thought it was a bug or something because it looked worse/had worse designed than most other quests in the game. But then I realized that nope, it's just lazy design.

It's not really game breaking but it totally kills the immersion - especially when this is a such a simple thing to fix and/or make better. But then again I suppose this is one of the drawbacks of having thousands of quests in a game.

One thing that bugged me out even more was when I did the quests with the lunar champions and mane storyline - I went into this sacred/awesome/magical place with a story critical character, and when inside I saw tonnes of players running around with a Khajiit NPC doing the same "unique" thing. Totally ruined the immersion for me, made me quite cranky actually.

Still a great game, possibly the greatest MMO I've ever played.
Which is why it hurts when sometimes I stumble upon things in this game that are just sub-par any other MMO out there T_T

I'd agree with you. I love this game and is my favorite MMO I've ever played but at some places ZOS seamed to be lazy and take a 'cop out' for some quests, Which suprises me because some quests are amazing! Such as the one where you have to kill a sea serpent on a boat (AD) or the one where you have to retake a town from werewolves (DC) or the two 'Brothers Of Strife' quests. (EP) But when you see something that looks as terribly done and crap as 'The eye of the ancients' it really annoys me because it could have been so EPIC!

Ehhh, EP player here so by the time I hit this quest, I'm pretty far past caring about story/immersion aspect and focused on hitting as many quests as fast as possible. That being said, that was a pretty sad death ray, is blowing up a boat that taxing on the server?
