With a wireless keyboard and mouse and 25 foot USB cord extension for my controller, I already play ESO while sitting on my sofa. I love the fact PCs have HDMI connections and my tv has 4 inputs. :)

Or Xpadder and a controller...works quite well.

They probably keeping stuff hush hush for E3 or they do want fans yo be hype up about dlc and it getting delayed. You players would outrage if that happen.

Didn't they say somewhere that we wouldn't get any major new content until after console release?

I would guess if that's the case they don't see the point in hyping just yet, after June we will no doubt hear about the new content coming to us.

All focus is on the console version bud you see the market for the elder scrolls series is 86 percent console for skyrim so that is where the big money is. They must do what they must to make sure the the release goes well console side and i wouldn't expect dlc for at least a month after as well.

Skyrim units sold in the first 48 hours 3,500,000
Skyrim units sold in the first week release 7,000,000
Skyrim sales in the first week of release $450,000,000
    Total Skyrim units sold 23,270,000
    Total Skyrim sales revenue $1,390,000,000
    Average user review rating 92 / 100
Highest number of concurrent players on Steam 320,000
    Skryim Sales By Platform
    XBox 360 59 %
    Playstation 3 27 %
    PC 14 %

So you can see that the console release is really important to them but it should be important to you as well.
Because the income from the consoles is expected to be much more than the pc version thats alot of money to go towards say more devs to push content and bring the rest up ready for release.

    Hope this helps:)

Why are the devs silent about new content. That's a huge loaded question.

To start with, there has been new content. We just got all the skills, and most of the rest of the systems completely renovated only a few months ago. We got a beta for a console release, which is only a few months away. And we still get the small patches and fixes along the way. All that is new content, it's just not the new content you're looking for.

And they haven't been silent about future content. Check out the eso live episodes once in awhile, and you'll hear about the Orsinium zone that's getting close to completion, and the Imperial City, not to mention the barbershop/race changes coming to the crown store.

And the devs have been silent part: For one, they aren't allowed to spill everything going on. What if we heard they were planning on this huge amazing thing, and then it fell through early on? We'd be pretty upset, and it would hurt sales/the community/trust in the developers/etc. But if they revealed it when they knew they could promise it would be in the game, then yeah, everyone's happy.

Plus, you know, companies like to surprise people for some reason. Reveal the greatest thing and it be ready now. Sometimes backfires, but sometimes works amazing. And that trick requires the overhead to carefully plan releases, which means stuff waits to be released for awhile. Kinda sucks, but whatever.

To be fair, at least the new facial expressions made it into the game, so they'll only have 90% of the footage to reuse.

Ah, here is comes again. This is data from the first week after release and it doesn't include Steam sales. SteamSpy estimates the number of Skyrim owners to be over 8 mln, and they get this info by scanning people's profiles. This is much more than 14% of total sales. Of course, your point still stands, both consoles combined sold more copies.

When were they ever not silent?

Even when they did say something it was 50-50 as to whether they'd change their mind and it wouldn't happen.

Frankly I've given up expecting ZOS to ever enter into a dialog with players or to provide 'roadmaps' that don't turn into maps to blind alleys and dead ends. Take a look back. Sure, the early ones mentioning Craglorn more or less happened mainly because obviously the content was largely done, from July last year though much of what they said would happen, didn't, and much that happened was entirely not mentioned till it did.

Yup indeed your right but im trying to show people why so much resources are been spent to ensure the console release goes off with a bang. It also applies to the question that keeps getting asked why eso ui on the console is so much alike to skyrim.
As much as i want new content i understand why this is so important to them atm.

I will tell you what is going to happen and why you can wait another year for new content:

In June Console release, after that they will be fixing bugs/loading screens/Disconnects and all other kind of stuff they dealed with the past year on PC again on CONSOLE. So prolly will take them another year while we will not see any new content :)

Why are the devs so silent in regards to upcoming content lately?

Because all they are focused on atm is console release. Then they intend to let the game "breathe" (yeah, their words) awhile before adding ANY new content. Ostensibly this is so the shiny new console crowd can have time to play through all the existing content that will be new to THEM while us PC folk languish. One HOPES they'll be using this "breathing" time to eventually FIX the very many things that are wrong with this game, both large and small, and won't just end up endlessly hot fixing issues caused by the console release.

My money is on no new content until at least Xmas time.

Well since they make money selling dlc's I suspect about a month or so after console release we will see something, at least I hear them talking about the Imperial city, Dark Brotherhood, and a couple of other things in the ESO live shows, and as I have followed this game and the dev's for a very long time, when they stop talking about something is when it is not happening. I guess time will tell, but something new can not come soon enough, they should have included a new area with the champion point system.

Because they have nothing being release for several months. Many people I play with are quitting / already quit because of this. I an more new to veteran ranks than they were, so I am lingering still. They tell me the content has been stagnant and boring with nothing new to do.

In days to come scholars will write of the Great Content Drought of Tamriel. When silence scourged the land and the people logged on mostly to keep an eye on their crafting research and feed their horses.

A great hero did eventually emerge from either The Imperial City or Wrothgar and for a while the people were happy again.

The land and the people did recover eventually but not without great loss as content thirsty citizens sailed away to other lands - some never to return.

That one is easy : because they cannot announce anything until they are absolutely sure

1/ that they will implement it
2/ how they will implement it, in details
3/ when they will implement it

Otherwise people will bombard them with questions / requests / complaints to which they will get no answers which in turn will lead to more QQ and ZOS-bashing.

Furthermore, if any change happens between announcement and actual release, (some) people will again call ZOS liars and manipulative. People tend to take annoucements and advertising like promises, commitment if not plain contracts.

And for now they CANNOT guarantee that future content will be exactly as planned since they obviously first have to see how the game is doing on consoles, and get the feedback and expectations of the console crowd - which might be quite different from the PC crowd. Financial aspects are also to be taken into account : size and timetable of future content could just as well depend on how much income is provided by console release, which can be anything from far less than expected up to much more than expected. Technical aspects too : if future content is meant to be played by (let's say) 100 000 players, server requirements are not the same as for, (let's say) 1 000 000 players and this might also impact the size and complexity of further content.

In the meantime, there is absolutely nothing else ZOS can do except keeping silent, because they don't know themselves exactly what, how and when new stuff will come into the game.

Actually none of that is new comtent. I suppose you could make the arguement that the console release is new content for a console player if you wanted. But fixing systems and bug fixes is most certainly not new content.
