Why is the skillbar locking so frequently?

It keeps freezing randomly which stops even basic attack. What exactly is causing this and how to overcome it?

i have noticed cant be cast in quick succession due to this fact...ill cast it twice in a row no problem then all of sudden the third one will freeze and i need to try to auto attack before anything acutally works0 -

its just silly, sometimes when im on a mount the skill bar locks up and i cant dismount. Worse case scenario is when i am fighting a boss, the skill bar locks up, preventing me from even doing basic attacks and blocking.0 -

✭It has got better since launch! But it's still there, I use a couple of methods to clear it;
first open my map and switch weapon - this works most of the time!
Press Esc - sometimes works when the above fails.
/re-loadui if you can...
if the above fail Alt + F4
It's crap and ZOS do not even acknowledge the issue, so it will never be fixed. So you can only try one of the work arounds and put up with a sub performing combat system....0 -
RainfeatherUK✭✭✭✭I've noticed it EU side since the B2P integration and population increase.
Considering similar happens in cyrodiil under load and I only get the problem at peak - could be a population issue.0 -
Calluna✭✭✭Hit comma twice to go in and out of the crown store, that has fixed it for me every time so far. I haven't tried when I am stuck on my horse though because that has only happened to me once. What is funny with the bug is it does it all the time on my templar but basically never on my sorcs or nightblade.0 -

Lord_Kreegan✭✭✭✭✭It WASN'T really there at launch; it showed up a bit later with one of the patches (don't remember which one). The big problem at that time was that players couldn't reliably swap skill/weapon bars (which may have been a problem at launch, but players weren't level 15 yet and wouldn't have seen it inbetween crashes).
Since then ZOS has been continuously screwing around with the prioritization of event handling and balancing the game, both of which have impacted UI behavior. Presumably they're trying to optimize performance... although it often seems like they're deliberately trying to frustrate the hell out of us... inbetween crashes.0 -
Huggernaut✭✭✭✭I clear it a few different ways.
I used to have to remove everything / requip everything, but now most times I can clear it simply by pushing my shift key (which is my sprint key).
