Yeah right. They are gonna nickel and dime us to death now.
Everything promised last year will be in separate parts and each bought separately.

This is more than likely true. If you don't sub you'll have to buy the DLC/Expansions. But if you sub you have access to the DLC areas and also pay more to have them. And from what we're seeing in the crown store now, the DLC will more than likely be close to 40$ USD.

Im not sure about that bud seeing as a dam motif is 40-50 dollars depending on where you are.
Id say it will go one of two ways depending on the market team and because they need to see what they can get away with.

Version 1. They carefully release small dlcs in phases so say thieves guild will come in 3 parts at 1500-2500 crowns each over say 3 months. that way it looks like there giving us dlc at small prices but are instead breaking up expasions to fit the method.

Version 2. They release expasions every 3-6 months for 60 dollars standard and say 80 dollars for the premium version. Now we know they love doing this and id say it would come with say for the thieves guild. It could be a special thieves guilds costume akin to the night blade armor and a special thieves guild mount. By doing this they can say they gave you the expasion cheaply to them but if you wanted more there was a slighty better version akin to Imperial version.

Oh Heeeell no! I already bought the game as well as pay a monthly fee before Tamriel Unlimited. I'm fine with the Crown Store offering various goodies, but if they start releasing content as paid DLC I'm going to be a very unsatisfied gamer. I suspect I won't be the only one.

Er, they've SAID they'll be releasing paid CONTENT DLC through the Store, it's not a point of conjecture!

Read the info about subs and the comment about losing access to DLC but keeping rewards from it .. what but CONTENT DLCs will give rewards that text is referring to?

Subs 'rent' content you'll otherwise have to PAY for in the Store.

$60.00 expansion had better be every fricken thing talked about for the last year and doubles the size of the game, or, it's not worth the price of the original game.

If they release these in parts as you say, that would be worse. You know how well they keep their word on releasing parts of content. Cough.. Justice system second part.. Cough...

If I buy something on the premises that it is part one of two, then part two is trashed, will I get a refund.

That's freaking crazy. $20 is the most I would pay or I would just take the cheap way and sub for a month for $15 and still have access for the month to experience it. You also keep all the gear/levels and whatnot even after you drop the sub after that month so why wouldn't people go that route? I don't mind throwing $20 on some expansion Dawnguard/DragonBorn size but I would never pay no $60. I find it hard to justify spending that on a brand new game. Witcher 3 is the only title this year that looks to be worth it this year. I know I may come across as cheap but I got to see some value and $60 for an expansion better have as much content as the Witcher 3 for example before I throw money at that.

You would still pay 45 dollars by the time their done with the first expasion just to rent it.

No, no I think you misunderstood as I didn't write it clearly. I would wait until part 3 was out then sub for the month or buy the DLC for $20. Version 1 or 2 doesn't fit either. Another solution I have is I would wait until it goes on sale for $20. I already wait as is until most games go on sale this gen because I don't think they are worth the asking price. The reason I cancelled my sub in the 1st place was because I was expecting Dawnguard/Dragonborn size content every 6 weeks among other reasons.

That's a good catch there EJRose. Maybe Abah's Landing will be the "Eyevea" of the Thieves Guild?

Here's an extrapolation of your theory as well - due to the association between the Dark Brotherhood, the Morag Tong, and Mephala, maybe the previously-revealed Mephala's realm (which is called the Spiral Skein) will be associated with the Dark Brotherhood DLC.

Regarding prices, I'm thinking it'll be 2500-3000 Crowns per DLC, so 2500-3000 for each of: Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, and Wrothgar. This would be in-line with standard console DLC prices.

I can see this ^ . $35-40 DLCs will force people back into subs or they'll be locked out of content.

ZOS stated that the DLC prices will be in line with standard DLC prices so this is far more likely than what the alarmists who are pulling a comparison to completely unrelated motif prices out of their hat are throwing out there.

I hope they do package these new areas with Thieves Guild/ Dark Brotherhood content respectively. That would make the DLC more appealing to a wider audience who might want the new zone but not the guild, or vice versa.

Thinking that there's any relationship between the price of purely cosmetic items and DLC is a mistake. The price of one has absolutely nothing to do with the price of the other, as they are priced based on entirely different marketing strategies.

Cosmetic items are intended to appeal to the segment of players who actually care enough about how their characters look to be willing to spend real money to get the look that they want. That's only a portion of the player base, and price points for those items can be set relatively high (if you're willing to spend any amount of real money on something just because you think it looks cool, most likely you're willing to spend as much as you might spend for a meal at a decent restaurant - as long as you think the item is cool enough). Cosmetic items are pretty much never a feature that is intended to attract new players to the game - it's aimed at existing players who are already invested in the game.

DLC, on the other hand, is intended to appeal to the entire player base. To be successful DLC has to be something that a very large portion of the player base wants to buy (or is willing to subscribe in order to access it). This means it has to be content that people will want, and it also means that the price point has to be somewhere that the majority of the player base will consider reasonable. DLC is also something that is intended to attract new players to the game. Someone who wasn't interested in the game previously might look at something like Wrothgar (for example) and say "hey, I love orcs, maybe I should think about getting the game". If DLC is going to be successful at bringing new players to the game, it has to be priced low enough that the cost of the base game plus the DLC does not become a barrier to entry. If the base game is $60 (is that even what it costs now? I have no idea) and the DLC is another $50, then a new player who might have come to the game because of that DLC is going to look at that combined $110 price tag and probably be scared off by it. If, on the other hand, the DLC is $15, then the prospective new player is only looking at a $65 price tag, and may be willing to buy it.
