Nothing brings me more joy than killing another player's avatar. It is fun in Cyrodiil, and it would be more fun in open world combat.
For those of us who desperately want this, especially after the developers told us it would happen and got our hopes up, it has been a constant topic of discussion and something that is extremely important to our game experience. For those who do not like the idea of player-enforcing in the Justice System, there is already a switch that allows you to opt out of it if you're not into that type of gameplay. As I have said before- If you don't like the punishment, do not commit the crime.
One thing I do not like, is all the murderers that run around cities killing NPCs and I can't do anything about it. Since this is a post directed at the developers: Please, implement a REAL Justice System. Let there be justice for these heinous criminal acts.
When the enforcer system arrive, all of you must be prepared.....
The dark forces at the service of the Night Mother arise and every enforcer go to disappear in the shadows of doom.....
Light your torchs, close the gates and pray, nothing can stop the hand of the death.....
I hate you, but I also love you and truly hope we get to do battle.
Please, ZOS. Let this happen.
If people don't want to participate, they can... Not be criminals???
You will only be able to hear the clink of gold coins falling from the hands of my victims .... The depths of Tamriel host me and at night, I go out of her entrails to slip in cities and claim the tribute to my dear mother .... Do you want to stop me? Swears loyalty to your people, forge an army and be vigilant, you're in my territory, I am the lord of the shadows .....
Wha... With your vr5 templar? I'll eat you for lunch and wipe the floor with your entrails... Repeatedly :P All you'll get from me is a free trip to nearest wayshrine lol
I would like to know whether or not to continue investing time in the game. If the system won't be coming, I can stop looking forward to it, and focus on other things.
In all honesty, if the Enforcer system is the only reason you want to play the game then I'd suggest moving on. Chances are that even if it does come in, it isn't going to be enough on its own to sustain long-term interest in the game. Your choice, of course.

Heh. It actually is the only thing preventing me from enjoying the game. The lack of meaningful player interaction and decidedly single player nature of the game is what keeps me teetering back and forth between enjoying it and not enjoying it.
I appreciate you being polite, but I'm perfectly capable of making my own decision, and I don't really need a random forum poster recommending how I spend my free time.
What I do need is a ZOS employee to clarify their intent in regards to a system we were told was being added, which got me and a large number of other players very excited. That is quite literally the only response to this thread that will satisfy me. You and the other posters who have attempted to derail it by expressing your disdain for PvP are only accomplishing the feat of keeping it on the front page, and the longer it sits there, and the longer the thread gets, the more likely it is that ZOS will finally give us a legitimate response.
And for that, I say: "Thank you."
Just like PvP gates apparently. Uncovering holes is a good skill, finding ways to creatively fix them is better.rajaniemiorama_ESO wrote: »On ESO live (about two weeks ago now) they mentioned the enforcer system. All they said was it is still being worked on. The best we can take from that is that it had not been scrapped, but doesn't mean it won't be.
As to the camping of entrances to the underground, a safe zone would most likely be implemented where player enforcers cannot actively fight another player upon approach.
So they'd camp just outside the safe zone instead?
Understood!

yaaaa...
/sarcasm off
Honestly, unless it's perfect, it's going to get abused.
I mis-press a key, heal a mob of flagged players, and get flagged myself.
No five minute timer - just an insta-1000+ gold bounty...
I'm not asking for it to be rushed, but simply for someone to tell us whether or not we can still expect it. As a previous poster has pointed out, Matt Firor has stated it may not even come at all.

I don't think that's really unreasonable, though I guess there are people in this thread vehemently angry enough that the system might come to be that they think it is unreasonable.
I'm quite sure they've already "talked publicly about" the enforcer system.
True; I just didn't see it listed, and I still haven't heard a time frame on delivery, so I figured I'd post and hope they give clarity, so that if the system is no longer planned I do not spend any more time hoping.
And miss out on all that the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood will offer in due course, just because PvPers want their activities extended into PvE areas? Why should PvE players be denied access to PvE content?
By all means have the Justice System fully implemented including Enforcers in Cyrodil, but don't attach PvP penalties to PvE crimes in PvE areas, it will deter a lot of people from playing as well as creating performance issues in those areas.

Then the PvP crowd, of which I am one, can have their cake while you can eat it too...

Most likely centered around the heat system, and tiering the bounty amount. Its also not that hard to level gate those who can attack you or cant based upon level difference.
People just need to be a little bit more open minded on both camps and give it some thought. Rather than trying to spoil each others fun.
Bottom line imo, crime needs a larger counter - one that player enforcement could provide. It just needs measures built in to prevent abuse. That would take time to plan and develop.
Anyway thats hopefully what ZoS are doing/working on. Either way any information on it wont be put out until after consoles / the content drought is over.
Enforcer system, murkmire, imperial city, etc are all vaporware until they actually come out.
I have my doubts we will see any of this, we don't even have all of Skyrim holds, most of morrowind, heck 80% of Tamriel isn't even in the game
I'll be surprised if we see any of it, but we will see new mounts in the crown store though lol

Pff, if there are good and innovative ways to implement it you can be sure they will avoid it like the plague. From what ive seen so far they just have to pee on the cake before serving it.
