Persistant error at startup

Arinoyde
I keep getting an error message when I start up the game: a box that says "Error 209 - PatcheMenifestError/ Unable to determine current version." Several times I waited for the game to reload patch data but the error keeps coming back. Often I can just play the game without any problem, but sometimes it will download a patch and then I can play the game. But it keeps coming back. What's happening? I have an iMac, OS 10.9.5.

Or, just close and reopen your Launcher, the game will work.*

*Most of the time the game will work. The precise instructions on how to do a repair may or may not fix this. I just ignore the 209 error message and the game plays just fine.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

This. It's an issue with the launcher, not the integrity of the game files. Once patched, you can in fact run the game from the eso.exe file in the game folder and bypass the launcher until the next patch is due, although the launcher bug generally rights itself within a day or two anyway.
