Is there any good use for Undaunted light and medium sets?

Undaunted Infiltrator Set (link here), Medium Armor, buffs magicka.
Undaunted Unweaver Set (link here), Light Armor, buffs stamina.

I understand they would work for some hybrid builds, but... do they?

-Vendoring for gold? That's about all I get from them.

Edit: The two sets you mention specifically, Unweaver and Infiltrator, are very lackluster. Bastion however could be useful.

I don't think they would work for min-maxing.. I don't even think being a hybrid build is good for min-maxing

But if you have a character that you just explore, enjoy and experiment they can be good. I have a bow sorc that I want to use some magicka and mostly bow skills, so I'm currently trying to get both sets to experiment and have fun with.

That bow sorc is NOT my main though.. and at this point I have no intentions of running trials etc. in the future with that character.. heck I don't even run vet dungeons that are that characters level haha. Oh yeah, she's my crafter.. so she's lacking in skill points at the low level VR rank ;)

Having a system as fluid and open as ESO's is, is both a blessing and a curse. It lets you try out things you might otherwise find ridiculous (like a Light Armor/Sword and Board/NB tank?). ZOS has allowed this functionality, so in some regards they are obligated to make the game work around it.

In other words, if min-maxing were the only viable option, there would be no use for hybrid or unorthodox builds. So the game is easier, in some regards, to humor these builds. Conversely, because these strange builds are allowed to work, the game is dumbed down in a sense. Min-maxers are not challenged in the ways they should be.

It was their attempt at getting people to use hybrid armor. However, like most of the 3 piece sets turned 5 piece, they generally cease to be worth it at 5 pieces, vs the other sets you can craft/obtain.

Personally, I pile them in the corner in a circular fashion to keep my Ta's from rolling away.

    That's how useful they are.

I was using it sometimes with an hybrid build in PvP before update 6.
After this the same build (but with a skill changed as mechanic), spending also points into The Atronach, is not as good as it was and it's better go full magicka or stamina and spell dmg or weapon.

Maybe, as DK with a build based on heavy attacks + Molten Weapon and many CP spent into The Atronach, it could still work.
If the last bonus doesn't improve and scale accordingly, probably it's still better raw damage as stat.
With softcaps instead it was interesting with a really specific build.

Considering the impact of spell/weapon damage and the magicka/stamina morphs, unfortunately with update 6 there are less interesting experiments.
Some sets infact should have stats/bonuses reworked to match the changements of update 6.

There are uses for the Infiltrator set but they require a very specific set up. I've never seen Unweaver actually used.

All of the Undaunted sets are kind of... meh. The only one reasonably interesting is Heavy, but Undaunted sets are just decon/vendor trash. The only thing people want from Undaunted are shoulder/helm sets.

Ok, fair point, they MIGHT be useful, but don't look like they are much.

Could ZOS, PLEASE, make some sets from these precious gold pledges that are, lets say, at least useful? :)

(Like Bastion Heavy armor, for example)

    Thank you.

Yep, if you know what you're doing, they can increase DPS by 1500 or so. The problem is that hybrid builds suck now for all sorts of reasons. ZoS needs to stop scaling damage off of resource pools OR scale damage off of the SUM of both pools.

Here's what I don't understand about the Undaunted Infiltrator and Undaunted Unweaver sets. The Undaunted Bastion set pieces can be heavy, medium, or light. Why isn't the same true of the Infiltrator and Unweaver sets? If it was, then there would be a point to them. If you've got a Magicka build and you want to take advantage of the Undaunted Mettle passive, you could then try to get 3 light Infiltrator pieces, along with 1 heavy piece and 1 medium piece. The same would go for stamina builds and the Unweaver set.

Of course, even if they dropped in all 3 types of armour, both sets are clearly intended for hybrid builds anyway.

I use the Undaunted Infiltrator for my Werewolf build. Because the heal in the Werewolf Skill Line is Magicka based you get the damage buff after you heal. And, since you're doing lots of light and heavy attacks as a Werewolf it fits perfectly. I couldn't find any other use for it though...

I used Infiltrator a lot prior to 1.6 for my Templar. It was fantastic back then, I would enchant it with Health and the set would provide enough Magicka for me to use Blazing Shield while I peppered enemies with 2-handed light attacks.

In the current environment, I have no place for this set - which is too bad; I think it looks fantastic. Not quite as good looking as the Air set (which makes me wish there were 7 piece bonuses) but close.

The Infiltrator set works well in the build I use, focusing on heavy attacks. I apply several DOT effects (Unstable Flame, Burning Breath, Degeneration, Poison Injection) and lock targets down with Bombard in my AoE's (Razor Caltrops, Eruption, and Scorched Earth), then buff myself with Molten Armaments and heavy attack for massive single target damage as well as stamina recovery (buffed by the Tenacity CP passive).

    Synergy with Undaunted Infiltrator:

    1) Molten Armaments [skill triggers Infiltrator buff] (+41% heavy attack damage, + bonus damage against lower health targets)
    2) Spawn of Mephala [set] (30% chance of ~1000 damage per second for 5 seconds plus 50% snare proc on heavy attack)
    3) Poisonus Serpent [set] (20% chance of ~800 damage with heavy attack vs poisoned targets)

Presently I don't have the builds gearing complete (stupid Mephala helm REFUSES to drop... *** RNG...), but even now I land stealth attacks for upwards of 30k, and my DPS for a boss tends to start around 12k and (thanks to Molten Armaments) ends up in the 20k range by the end of the fight.

It's EXTREMELY specific and PvE centric (works in PvP against the unskilled masses, just don't expect to be winning duels with it), but generally any Dragonknight looking to build around Molten Armaments can benefit from using Undaunted Infiltrator. The real problem stems from Heavy Attacks themselves, not from the set. Heavy Attacks are unreliable against some PvE mobs who indicate contact (visually and audibly) but don't take the heavy attacks damage (the weapon enchant hits them but nothing else does... stupid bug), as well as the DPS loss while charging the attack (hence the heavy focus on DOT to compensate in my build). In PvP, it's just difficult to land a good heavy attack in melee, so I generally stick to Bow heavy + Poison Injection, though the Molten Armaments buff is a bit too short to be all that useful on a bow, so I make the most of those heavy attacks by casting Degeneration right before them (triggers Might of The Guild for 20% damage buff).

Frankly its just to tedious to use in small fight PvP especially when you could just go Ravagers set with some Morag Tong and Shadow Walker gear and be just another scrub spamming Crit Charge, Wrecking Blow, and Rally FTW.

The five set bonus for these sets are unique and could be used in many builds. The part of the sets that cause them to never be used is that the medium armour gives magicka and light armour stamina. Please switch these two so the sets are actually viable.

I think they're fairly viable for hybrid builds. Could be better, could be worse. The problem is hybrid builds aren't as viable as they should be. The removal of soft caps without something like diminishing returns to replace them kind of screwed that up.
