I keep having to run repair after updates. Pain in the ass.

Same thing happened to me, I just shut down the launcher and restarted, then PLAY showed up. This happened about three releases ago, and eventually faded away. I have learned not to start the launcher until a couple hours after they say the maintenance is finished.

Yup, seems to be a problem with the latest update with recurring repairs and version not found errors for me.

Plays fine when I get logged in, it is just the launcher that seems to be broke.

It's a standard bug affecting the launcher after every patch. Just close and re-open the launcher until the "play" button appears. No need to repair the game files, delay running the launcher, or reboot the computer etc, and as an alternative you could simply run the game from the eso.exe file in the game folder instead of using the launcher - after you've installed the patch. The bug normally resolves itself after a day or two.

I've tried close, reopen, you name it. I crash constantly in game. This happened prior to the update and it's worse now. Now I get the manifest error, missing .dll files, and I keep doing everything that people say to do. I like the game, but the constant issues do not endear me to it. I'm on Windows 8.1. Their fix didn't fix anything and it's far worse than it was.

OK, in all honesty, Microsoft set the bar for "acceptable" bugs.

give it a day or three. Then the bug will disappear mysteriously without any word from ZOS.

I certainly don't regard it as acceptable, by "standard" I simply meant that it happens every time the game is patched.

It sounds like a complete re-install might be worth trying in your case, crashing constantly in-game is nothing to do with the manifest error bug that relates solely to the launcher after patching. Make sure also that your system meets the recommended requirements, that things like DX9/11 are fully updated, and that your fans are adequate, clean, and running normally.

Might try deleting the ZO_Ingame.lua file at Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\SavedVariables...

I saw in one of threads where this worked for a few people
