UI, group finder way better in Consoles than PC

Per title. This seems to be the consensus of people playing the console beta. So the obvious question is when are PC players going to be given some love? It kinda hurts a little bit to be given the shaft in this regard.

One of the benefits of the LFG tool in consoles is that it's the primary means of getting a group with players you don't know. Unlike in the PC version, where you advertise in Zone chat (I had to reword that to be less derogatory to the act, as I deplore using Zone chat in that manner).

The PC LFG tool apparently works just fine. But when the MMO veteran is more comfortable using Zone chat, you can't force them to change.

As there is no practical way to abuse channel usage in a repetitive and highly disruptive fashion on Consoles, using the in-game tools or forum grouping seems the only way to get it done. Which is one point I'm very happy with, and is also why so many find it so much more useful.

Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

Of the two main avenues to finding a group, if one is eliminated, then all that is left is the Group Tool. The main issue with the tool on the PC is most don't use it for a variety of reasons, so Zone Chat and Guilds get the nod for grouping activities on the PC.

I can see it working better on the consoles because that is mostly what people are going to have to find random groups.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I agree with most, but I will say that friends list and guilds are probably still going to be where the bulk of high-end grouping come from. And possibly or even probably a third-party site like DestinyLFG.

The problem I have had with the LFG tool is that it's not very discerning. No way to determine the quality or at least gear/experience of the player your picking up. Scrubs make bad PUGs.

That might be some of it. But mostly it's probably the fact the console version is brand new and there are a lot of players attempting the same content at roughly the same time.

I would allow a few months to pass then see if it still works so effectively. Because I am sure most PC users would be more than happy to use the Grouping Tool if it actually worked.

The last time I used the LFG tool was on a Sunday a few weeks ago. No exaggeration it literally took 5 hours to finally be put in a group. I have not used it since. Clearly it's not working, either because of a coding problem or people simply are not using it. It needs an overhaul to make it easier to select what you are willing to do and an incentive to get people to use it. An XP bonus would work for instance.

This thread wasn't meant for yet another debate of why/if the group finder is broken, but how the console version seems superior. It is a very slick interface for the group finder. The PC interface is very lack luster in comparison. They should just port that interface back over to the PC.
