This....this is INCREDIBLY entitled of you, to ask that players not be allowed to run. Walking is slow, not everyone cares about the story or the "atmosphere", personally, i like the story, but walking is WAY too slow, running is a much better way to get around

Not allowed?
In which part said I should not be allowed?
I say moderate, like any comments to remind the player is running on automatic, as a complaint by the merchants or warning from the guards, maybe some that are not really in a hurry opt for changing the mode optional and voluntarily.

again, not everyone cares about the atmosphere, and would probably just find that annoying more then anything.
I personally care about atmosphere, and HATE the idea.

Sure, in a fantasy game spells have to be used sometimes, but I think it would be better for immersion if people only used spells occasionally, and used mainly light and heavy attacks during combat. Of course this is not mandatory, but the frequent use of spells deals with the need to kill things more efficiently, but the abuse ends up hurting the atmosphere of the wilderness. Perhaps we could have some moderation of this abuse via enemy mobs reminding players that they are using spells. Maybe people who do not care about survivability and killing mobs efficiently opt to not use spells voluntarily.
I was wondering why most players have activated all the time the automatically run option.
This is most noticeable in cities and within buildings. It's like you're in the stock market all the time, running from here to there.
I think it would be good for greater immersion in the game that all are used most frequently the option of walking, especially in cities and inside buildings as any citizen does in normal conditions.
This also applies to the mounts, on roads and wilderness areas is not as shocking as seeing everyone running their mounts through the cities, jumping over the NPC, trade shops, etc.
Also it would be good to improve the management of space and motion paths in populated areas.
It is somewhat unusual to see characters go running with their mounts beneath tents, or dismount on the stairs next to the doors before entering a building rather than turn off his mount in the street and walking up stairs .
This of course is not mandatory and it is understood that the use of a higher speed of movement or no respect certain spaces deals with the need to do things faster, but the abuse ends up hurting the atmosphere of these places.
Personally I started to improve the use of populated spaces in villages and started to disable automatic running and the experience was rewarding.
Who you think?
This can help to improve the atmosphere of cities and interiors of buildings?
You believe the game should moderate this type of abuse through closer monitoring by the guards or the owners of each trade or building?

Did you not in a previous thread mention something about a separate thread about people allegedly complaining or whining about stuff, yet you post this?, naturally you are entitled to your opinion, strange as it is.
But let me get this straight, you think people running everywhere is abuse? what?, and you want it mandatory or something, to be forced to walk in cities, who are you to say such things for everyone because you decree it?, if it not mandatory then why suggest such a thing?.
Who cares if people run everywhere, its faster than walking, so we should all just walk about cities for you, cos it hurts the atmosphere?, what???
This has to be one of the top strangest threads IMO that I have ever seen, kudos to you for such a dubious honour.
To me, people running everywhere or on horses add to the immersion, as you know others are around, doing their own things.
You can do what you want, sneak, hop, crawl about, but don`t have the temerity to open a thread going on about abuse of running, people can do what they want, even you...

Aye fair point, but I just do not understand why you bothered to post this in the first place, as a social experiment, then yeah, or a separate server then yeah by all means.
But is it really that bad that people are in a rush?
Immersion is up to the beholder, I take in everything in a glance, threats, extraction points, the terrain while moving fast.
I got no problem you wanting to walk about, go for it;}, but I just found it unfair that you seemingly want others to do the same.
Everyone plays their own game.

At no time I express that I want everyone to do the same as if it were mandatory, even explain in the beginning of this topic.
Nor post the idea of a closed form, I make place to the opinion, moreover, ask them openly that thought just to know everyone thinks.
The idea is purely and exclusively oriented to something optional, I also run with the character and would not like to remove this possibility.
As I tried to explain earlier, I think perhaps often use to run it out of habit and perhaps a reminder that many would begin to deactivate voluntarily in certain areas.
I think many reacted badly to see the idea regardless of the details of my comments and rushed to attack, but is ok, it's part of the exchange of views and when I reply it only do to clarify and did not lend itself to confusion.

I could be wrong, but I don't think many people even use auto run. Nor do I think it is accurate to say people only run out of habit. I'd assume most people seem to be running all the time because when you are not running or using a mount you are travelling really slowly, and wasting time that could be much better spent. I don't think a guard telling people "hey, just wanted to let you know you're running right now when you don't have to" is going to make anybody think "oh wow, didn't even realize I was running, I think I'll just walk to the decon stations instead."
