Master Staff enchantment fail (no remorse)

After a particularly intense session in Cyrodiil, I attempted to re-charge my master ice staff, which frequently needs recharging, and I accidentally clicked on enchant instead. I was tired and not focused as this has become a mundane task, and enchanted over my Master ice staff. It is now almost useless.

I asked for mercy from the tech support staff and received none in the most polite way.

Is it too much to ask for the chance to fix a mistake like that? Would it break the game to have my main weapon replaced for a moment of carelesness?

I don't see the big deal, you can just enchant it again with the correct enchantment. I also don't understand how you'd accidentally click enchant, then select a glyph and then apply that glyph by mistake, that's a 3 step process.

Master staves come with a unique enchantment that enchanters cannot create.

I feel for you OP, I've almost done it a few times and I actually stopped recharging them altogether. I've read of cases where players accidentally equipped an item when they meant to link it in chat and the support staff changed the item from being bound back to bind on equip.

Maybe that particular support member was having a bad day, I'd try contacting them again and hopefully get someone else.

I must look into this, didn't know such an enchantment existed.

Some enchantments are uniques, not only the master weapons' one. But these are very powerful, a good reward for how difficult they are to get. A great bonus on the first weapon spell and a stat bonus (on the master staffs, +900 mana) is very, very good. Moreover, the stat bonus work even if the enchantment is empty.

I hope you will drop an another staff if the tech support can't help you.

Check out the enchantment on that Greatsword. If you can show me the recipe to re-create the enchantment, I would love you long time.

That cleave damage boost includes the DOT. It. Hits. Hard. Same idea with the staff. I asked again but got another no. Note to self: never handle master weapons when falling asleep.

WTF? No. They have a double enchant. You cannot re-enchant it. Also who cares if you don't understand it? He made a mistake. I think it would be cool of ZOS to help him out. I mean it would be a good way to at least earn some image points.

My healer hat went missing and I asked cs turns out I had deconned a hat I was wearing (how??) And zos sent me a new one.

@lordform I recommend putting in another ticket really. Just be really nice and explain and maybe your cs roulette will be better and you'll get someone who will help?

That was a known bug early on -- many people managed to decon hats they were actually wearing, while attempting to decon something else. That's quite different.

The current interface does make it relatively easy to make the same mistake the OP describes. Several times, I have caught myself about to enchant something I merely meant to charge.

Pro tip: don't use right click to charge weapons. Instead, hover the mouse over your weapon and press "F" (or whatever key you want to bind it to).

Been doing it this way since I deconned a legendary staff by accident, never looked back.
