Imagine how bad finding a group will be on console

Finding a group for a vet pledge or trial is hard enough on pc with text box's to spam in zones or your guilds, and we all know the "group finder" is pretty useless. I predict mass frustration and rage quit on the consoles for something like this.

imo i think it will work. Tbh i dont think the group finder is useless, its just the fact no one uses it. On console they will be forced to use it.

It's going to be easier actually. Everyone is "forced" to use the group finder, so it will work much better then PC version.

Let's be honest though, no one really likes pugging vet dailies or trails though.

and hence why you will be able to group with guild mates for those things.... it will work brilliantly for people looking to pug things though, and thats what it was designed for.

It can be very annoying I know from experience from another game. Wish there was somekind of way to save/store sentences what you use frequently. Cyrodil thats going to be nightmare, alliance teamwork is already bad in this game, just imagine without chat.

Like said before in this thread: on console pretty much everyone will use the LFG tool. as long as it works its going to be fine.

And if you don't use the LFG tool there is clans/guilds and third party PUG tools (destiny raids are a great example.. (thats a console game if you didnt know)

There is literally no difference when grouping up compared to PC.. bar the zone spam.

Console clans on games like Battlefield and Destiny meet on their site, discuss tactics and use voice chat to coordinate. no different than PC.

I can agree w/ this, as people will be forced to use the tool, and if it's not working correctly, it should be easier to pinpoint the problem w/ a high volume of players queuing.

I'm more worried about trading on consoles, personally. The kiosks work, but only as long as players continue to be patient enough to search throughout multiple kiosks throughout multiple zones to find the item they are looking for.

Console players aren't generally known for their patience (though many are).

Except...that the group finder for console is working like a champ. Take it for whatever that means...PC is broken? No one uses it? Who knows.
Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough.
Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
    Disable abilities while holding block.
Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil.
Fix/Remove Forward Camps. They are ruining Cyrodiil.
Impenetrability needs to REDUCE CRIT DAMAGE. Not negate entire builds.
Werewolf is not equal to Vamps/Bats.

I don't know if you can create/customize sentences but on the stream they showed of on live the UI designer said they had made a method to use "common" phrases to communicate with people outside the VOiP. I would think that do you want to group would fall under that category.

As to the grouping tool I think there is a huge stigma attached to it that PC players aren't willing to attempt to use it.

Only thing wrong with group-finder is that most people choose not to use it. Spamming chat gets annoying, but that seems to be the preference so I grin and bear it. Once I get 3 for a group, group-finder is usually able to find the 4th in the time it took to spam and gather the other 2. I remember at launch, I'd start a search in group-finder and get thrown into a group almost instantly. Perhaps the mentality was set into peoples' minds from other MMO's they played before ESO. I know with Neverwinter there was no point bothering with the group-finder, as it would demand a specific group class-wise. I like that you can set roles for yourself, and for what you are searching for here.

Console gamers are mostly single player focused, so that they might not even care about Trials, Guilds and all of that. They will play ESO like Skyrim and that's it. To expect big MMO action on a console is a bit silly if you ask me, this is what we have the PC for.

It'll be interesting to see whether ESO console players use different tactics in Cyrodiil than PC players. More 3- or 5-man teams?

FF11 (From 2001) disagrees with you, so does DCUO (where most of ITS customers are ON console), Destiny ALSO disagree's with you, same with FF14

Heck, most console games focus ENTIRELY on the multiplayer aspects now-a-days, with many not even having a single player story anymore.

ignorant post is ignorant, please know what in the world you are talking about

I think he may be talking about the traditional Elder Scrolls console players who are limited to single player mode. But I totally agree that consoles today emphasize multiplayer especially in fps games.

Cyrodiil is where the difference between PC and console players might show up first. While zerging will no doubt still be the main strat in the console, it'll be interesting to see if the CoD types do more of Cyrodiil as small groups. It might come down to how much latency they could tolerate though. If you can't swap out weapons instantly or attack in a console game and you died, you'd be pissed. Same reaction will carry over to any console mmo.

From watching 5 or 6 beta streams the group finder seems to be very stream lined and functional on the console. The problem seems to be communication at the moment. From what I can gather the group chat channel seems to be proximity based so if the group member isn't within a certain distance they can't seem to hear you. Of course that might of been lack of knowledge on the users part. This was shown well in Deltia's stream of Spindleclutch where two members didn't make it to the actual dungeon for a good 4-5 minutes while the two members inside discussed how to connect with them.
