Shared Weather: Breaking Immersion for Roleplayers & why not Implement?

So yeah, as a roleplayer (yay, the minority of any MMORPG!) I've been quite baffled by the lack of a shared skybox with a shared weather-system. What am I refering to, some of you might ask? Well basically, if you're standing around in Wayrest or along the beaches of Auridon, you might some times notice that it is raining. Cool. Now, if you're a roleplayer, who socialise around other people, in this game you'll some times notice those other characters making remarks like "Maybe we should go inside, I don't like the rain" or "Phew, what a warm and sunny day!" whereas, on your screen, the weather is entirely different. Trust me on this, it has come up more often than not.

So, eventhough I'm aware this mostly applies to roleplayers, what are your thoughts on the shared skybox setting? Yeah, I'm sure it's facisnating to have your own little weather-system in the world, but is it worth sacrificing for a shared sense of immersion? Why haven't ZoS implemented it yet, and WILL they?

No no i total agree and have ask the samething for fun thing with weather in ESO is if im group up with gf and we stand at same place at sametime it can rain for me and she can have sunshine and other way which is in our point if view one of most annoying thing in game.

It have hade happen that i can say "damn it is rain again" and my gf answer "where i have sunshine" and when i look over on her screen she sure have sunshine this one thing that ZoS should fix asap.

If you find yourself alone, riding in green fields with the sun on your face, do not be troubled; for you are in Elysium, and you're already dead

Yup fully agree. My gf and I sit right next to each other when playing and the first time we noticed the different weather we were like o.O

I play online with a group of friends, and the first time I noted this, I was hearing weird rumbling noises from a friend's PC (happened to be in the same room with me - the other two were connected via skype) and I thought it was some monster or something - he says 'it's the thunder, it's starting to rain'.

Weirded me out to see sunny skies on my screen.

I don't get why this would be separate for each player?

Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.

Simple zone/area wide ping when weather changes and client ping on entering/logon to check current zone/area weather from server. No need for real-time per-second update or syncronised thunder strikes. Just at least give roughly the same weather at least.

Zeni never cease to surprice me with these seriously odd decisions they have made about the game. Who thought it was a good idea to make it seperate? lol

Yes. Those are the most pressing matters at the moment.

Don't give them such ideas or patch 1.7 will be a "huge" weather patch with glitter and sparkles.

1hour footage of how they managed to synch the weather and how they feel this change was completely necessary.

Next Eso Live would be about weather system and would have an interview with a rain-drop designer who was a homeless guy living in the gutter next to their studio and how he knows alot about rain-drops (being homeless and all).

And after all that is done someone will put a netch on their head, sheep on Twitch will laugh they rectums off and all will be dandy for another month or two. Except it wont be.

In a game which is marketed for its immersion, this fact is totally immersion breaking

I cannot watch another episide of ESO live - I get too frustrated when it's clear that the folks talking do not actually play the game enough to know what they are talking about (from a player perspective).

Now granted - someone working full time in marketing or customer service or damage control or whatever probably doesn't have a lot of time to play ESO. So I guess I don't have a solution.

Or .... well, I just watched a Youtube vid from Gopher talking about a visit to the place in Poland where they make a certain online game about a certain white haired demon-and-witch-killer. I think that all the higher - ups at ZOS should watch it too.

Heh, I always thought it was shared like night and day.

Doesn't seem to make much sense so I can support them looking into it, wonder how much work it would require for them to implement it.
