Subs for forums?

I seriously don't understand why one even klicks on a vote like this, clearly only created to foster a hatestorm. These brainfarts should just be completely ignored.

And yes, I am fully aware of the irony of this post.

I only chose "Yes" because I think that a sub-only forum sub-section would be neat to have. Anyone could read posts in there, but only subscribers could post. They need more perks for subs, that might be a very small one they could add.

As for making the entirety of the forums sub-only? That's really not a very good idea.

I think a subscriber-only section of the forum where like-minded subscribers who think they are better than other customers over a piddly $15 a month could go and stroke each others egos would be fine.
It has nothing to do with subscribers thinking they're better or ego-stroking. It would only be something to add as a sub perk, since right now they could use all the perks they could get...

In some F2P games this is needed due to the overwhelmingly terrible nature of the playerbase who can play without having to spend a single real coin. Also of course pure trolls can peddle their malice without hindrance or expense.

However, in a B2P game everyone has at least had to pay the price of the game, so everyone has the same rights IMO .. as a subscriber I CHOOSE to pay for the perks I get (or other reasons) it doesn't make me a 'better person' not should it give me priority wen logging in (a common demand from some subscribers) nor should it mean I get to post where others can't.

Everyone that plays ESO is a paying customer. We all have to buy the game.

Second, some without subs will pay more than most subs due to cash shop. Maybe have a threshold that spend X and get access whereby subscribers would need to buy additional crowns to gain access. See how silly this can get.

Though I see no reason for not giving them a sub forum as mentioned above. Not saying it should be gated, but why not give them a sub forum.

But still, no to locking forums down to subbed accounts only lol

I've spent 3 months worth of subscription fees in the 1 month this game has been B2P. Getting really sick of this subscriber elitist circle jerk.

I've been subbed since release (on 2 accounts for most of that time), and I'm going to stay subbed (on only my main account, though), and I agree with you.

No, just because someone isn't paying a subscription doesn't mean they won't have anything valuable to give back to the community.

I said this in a previous thread where it came up. What happened if the big named community players stopped their subscriptions, should those people who do fantastic guides and promotions for the community lose their voice? Should they be forced to pay a subscription for the ability to support a community.

In regards to the answers about a subscriber only section I don't see the need for this, there are not really any subscriber only issues (any game issues effect us all) and it would only create an illusionary class system where players feel they're above those not paying the sub.

Additionally it's not like the sub only forums would be of any higher quality (like some believe) we have trolls and morons long before the game went B2P.

In what way does paying for a sub equal dedicated player? I subbed long enough to get a tiger but when it went BtP I realized that unless or until I wanted to participate in any of the DLC and that would be when there was DLC for soloable PvE I didn't need a sub. I have 3100 crown points from my subs and no real need to buy another mount or another pet or any of the costumes so far. I do have 50 levels of content in three different alliances I can explore in all without a sub. I have no problem rolling a new set of characters for each alliance either.

A separate forum section for subscribers. Yes.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.

Buying the game means you are a paying customer. Especially if you are paying for the game a second time on consoles.
Future content can be locked behind a subscription but you should not need one to discuss the game and make suggestions. Many of us are refusing to pay for subscriptions because there is not any new content and they are not listening. How would it be fair to have to pay and then MAYBE get what you want to see out of the game (if you're lucky)?

Nope, we all bought the game and have a say, regardless of opinions.

We all have a right, and many have been with the game since beta and some have unsubbed recently due to many reasons.

We should be united not divided.

There's a reason why the non-subscribers are not subscribing. People will subscribe to something that is worth it.

    ^ This.

I may not be a subber, but I've spent quite a bit of cash getting the things I want in the game, therefore supporting the game in my own way. All this sub = elitism rubbish is unacceptable.

Why does this even make sense to poll?
Most all forums are free, and there is no required sub to play so why attach one to be apart of the community

    Trolls will be trolls.

I do think there should be some sort of test administered, making people have to qualify, to earn the right to post on the forum.

Chiming in with everyone else. I'm subbed and intend to stay that way but everyone is part of the community and the forums are a community tool.

Now...would I like to see more useful delineation in the forums rather than the "junk collector" otherwise known as "general discussion"? Yes! (seriously? That's like putting an "other" or "miscellaneous" in a navigation menu...). But they should be designated by significant topic - not by sub status.

I don't think that excluding people is ever good. What happens if a non sub has a question or cant log on? Who will he call? Sure not the Ghostbusters, right, but maybe ZOS? But how so if he can´t enter the forum?

Also the idea with a specific sub forum for subscribers is tricky, what if the Devs focus more on this one, than on the F2P section? This will create a huge uproar and will make potential subs very unhappy. There are forums at the web that charge you money for accessing them, they always create an elite bunch of people, assuming they are worth more than others. In my opinion, no person in this world is worth more than another, no matter what the politicians try to tell you folks ;)
