Dual Wield vs One-hand and Shield in pvp

I can't seem to find an answer to this anywhere, but what's the damage/resistance difference between dual wield and sword n board? Keep in mind I'm not talking about the skills, just the passives and light/heavy attacks in pvp. I'm running a stam NB build that uses all class skills on the bar in question, so the weapon passives are all that really matter.

The obvious answer is that S&B will give you more defenses and DW will give you more damage. Are you looking for more than that? If you want numbers you can look at the handful of passives for each line and do a little bit of math based on your current stats.

I just meant like a percentage for how much more damage dw will do and how much resistance sword n board will give so I can see if which would be more worth it.

tp put it simply, NEVER use Sword and board for Melee DPS, only use it for tanking, and MAYBE healing/MAgicka DPS

You can block with both, the resistance that an actual shield gives you is only 3-4% depending on traits and quality.

BLOCK MITIGATION is substantially increased when using a shield, meaning you block more damage, it also costs less to block with a shield, but other than that, really no difference.

Just did a little math, and I could just be *** so keep that in mind, but it seems S&B offers about 17% increased spell and physical resistance, while DW offers about 17%(after the off hand passive increase) physical damage. Can anyone confirm?

An easier way to see the difference might be to just craft a white version of each of pretty much any level, as long as they're both the same level, then go see how much difference it makes damage-wise on some mob. Then you'll know exactly what you're getting for your particular setup. Also keep in mind that DW has passives that increase damage against stunned enemies and low health enemies, so check the damage in general, then add those percentages to get an idea of the full potential damage increase.

Defense-wise, you just kinda have to go with math.
