I thought they said they did have keyboard support for chatting...

We wanted to provide an update on keyboard support for the console version of ESOTU. Unfortunately, the message I posted in this thread yesterday was based on our development plans from earlier in the year, which included keyboard support for chat. However, keyboard support for chat is not something that will be available for the console version of the game. You will be able to use a keyboard for text entry in areas such as guild naming, etc., but not for chatting. Mouse support is not planned for the console version of ESOTU.
As things change in development, we definitely try our best to stay on top of those changes to keep you in the loop, but we know that misinformation can be frustrating. Again, we apologize for the confusion.
You can use the Party function to chat via voice and text with up to seven of your Friends and fellow players on the PS4 and PS Vita.
The Party function is available while using a game or other application, even if the other people in the chat are using a different game or application. An additional benefit of Parties is they make it easy to invite people into the game you're playing, so you can keep everyone together from game to game.

This is in addition to the normal voice chat, where you can individually mute who you want for those squeaky voiced kids.
We are used to voice chat on consoles as that is the norm.
I use the same usb keyboard on my PS4 and PC.

This is not game specific.
Both consoles allow group text chatting. The Xbox one doesn't simultaneously use group voice chat and text group chat in one window but on the Xbox one you can be in any group party voice chat and/or ingame voice chat while snapping text chat so both consoles take care of this "using a keyboard"TequilaFire wrote: »It makes no difference if you want to text chat on the PS4 it is built in, you don't even have to be in the same game.

So PS4 has the ability to have a party with keyboard chat features. At least PS is catering to the group player needs.

Gotcha. It's a shame this isn't built directly into the game client on launch. I highly dislike consoles, but I'm all for additional communication options for all.
Ah, my mistake. I guess my thinking was based on those earlier plans as wellI thought they said they did have keyboard support for chatting...found here: http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/comment/1739329/#Comment_1739329ZOS_JasonLeavey wrote: »Hey everyone,
