I can almost guarantee you that these vet ranked people doing the level 30 dolmens power leveled up on things like crabs in fungal grotto, and are now going back to get all of the explore and skill points they missed by blowing through the levels.

Your guarantee would be wrong then. I do not leave a zone till I do al the quests I can find, sky shards, lore books and turn the map white, etc. Extra achievements like the general bosses are not a concern while I level as I can go back and do them later on.

    It is what it is...

We have to just deal with it for now. Frankly put, I get annoyed when I am soloing a dolmen at level or below testing build ideas and people run up and hit my pinons and scramble to hit the boss to get essentially free credit. Happens all the time.

LOL, this is an MMO. The pinion belongs to the person who can activate it. Nothing else matters. What does it matter if they get credit for the boss? That affects you how, exactly? Best to roll with it and develop a lowered annoyance threshold.

    Thanks for the amusement.

Nonetheless, they've needed to overhaul their design with dolmens since perhaps month 3.

If I see a Dolmen up when I am going by, I will go and fight. I don't care what level I am in, or what zone I am in. Well, except for first zones, I won't do those dolmens unless I am going right past it as it goes up. No reason to do those more than once.

However if I am in a zone that is lower level than me, and there are other players there, I let them do most of the battle. I only need to kill like one mob to get credit, and get a hit or two in on the general if they spawn to get credit. So, that is what I do. Hang back and throw out a few spells or light attacks here and there but mostly just watch. If I see someone getting into trouble, I will engage the mob to give them a chance to heal or whatever. But otherwise I let the fight go to the people who are on level for the zone.

Thing is, I don't think I am that much different from most players I have seen that are over leveled for a dolmen. It's not like we get any mob credit, or a chest or anything else. We get a Dolmen count for the Achievement and possibly a General for that Achievement. I am not going to put out a bunch of effort for nothing, but I will put a small amount of effort for an Achievement point.

I have to say one thing about scaling. In my mind it is the best way to help dikmens get better to everyone exept those who dont want to make an effort.

Scaling up was in my post but that is one i dont think would ever work that great unless made similar as Cyrodil.

I think players should always be downscaled to dolmens level, that could easily be done by phased area, there are many similar areas in game.

Or to not credit for low level kills, this is somewhat the MMO standard, no loot or XP and add achievment to that but then again farming generals would be too hard if general spawning is not adjusted greatly.

I think that common mistake what people do when talking about scaling is, that they usually consider enemies scaled to players level. This is not the way ESO does it on Cyrodil, only thing that scales is you, not your surroundings in any way. Furthermore only your stats are scaled, nothing else.

This is very easy way to implement scaling, just create an instance which scales players to certain level. In case of dolmens, players should be downscaled this way to Dolmens level.

I have three VR 14 characters and one that just hit VR 11 and I assure you they did all the quests. In fact, including beta, I'm 31 levels into my SIXTH time doing DC quests. I loathe grinding.

It's unlikely that anyone gets the achievements on any toons other than their mains, as there's no much point after you get titles/dyes and such. What a lot of work to get dolmens on all one's VR 14 characters?! I wonder if anyone has more than one Master Angler on their account?

If this is based on getting Blue and Green fish, then it's quite easy to get this achievement if you go around with a group of people. Less than one hour per zone if there are 5 to 10 of you hitting each fishing hole.

By your self? I don't see this happening on even one character.

Certain Generals spawn from certain dolmens. There are the completely random ones from Cyrodiil (I think) but if I need General "X", "Y", and "Z", I'm going to go from dolmen to dolmen until he spawns.

Lots of times lowbies/level appropriate people thank me, other times they get mad.

You can't please everyone all of the time.

"Get them while you are leveling!!"

Well, I verge on spamming zone chat asking for level appropriate help when I'm leveling through a zone. Most times I don't get a reply.
