Which is the real me? What am I wearing?

When I sign into ESO I see a representation of my character in the introductory screen of in my latest armor set. However, playing the game I notice that I'm wearing armor which I was wearing previously and which now doesn't seem to change when I update it. I'm assuming that the depiction in the introductory screen is correct and I'm getting the full protection of my current selected armor. But it's bothersome to see my toon in game is wearing something else. Anybody else ever noticed this?

Your character is wearing a costume, which does NOT show up in the character list prior to logging the character in, but DOES show up in-game.

I have screenshots, but don't know how to post them here. I clicked "Save Draft" and it posted the URL on my computer, which doesn't do you any good. Can you help with posting my screenshots? I just know that when I change my outfit the appearance in game doesn't change.

Left of jewelry when you click "I" theres a costume slot.

Try clicking "E" on that

If that doesn't work, hit "U" on the keyboard to bring up you collections. Click on the constumes tab and see if you have anything active.

Hit the "I" button. On the left, above your weapons there's 4 slots. Costume/Disguise, then necklace then 2 rings. Take off the costume and you'll see what you're really wearing again.

Also, you should edit your first post with your real name in it, when you tried to link images. There's a gear icon on every post, click it and choose "edit."

You're wearing the disguise from one of the later Stonefall quests. You can unequip the vanguard costume, far left slot of the jewelry row.

If this is a costume, it's interesting, nonetheless.

I've got a character that always wears a costume, but always shows up in her 'organic' outfit on the loading screen.

Under Collections "U on keyboard" I see Costumes, Pets and Mounts. The Costumes tab brings up 5 possible costumes, all grayed out. There is no other. There is no heading "Jewelry" on my menus. Maybe you have a different version of the game, I have a Mac version. The only other thing I can think of to do Is to strip naked and redress myself, but I don't know how to do that...I can replace items from inventory, but I don't know how to take them off completely.

The grayed out costumes are ones you can get in game. There are more in the crown store. You can also save disguises from some quests in your inventory.

Go to your inventory. On the left side are your 7 armor slots. Then a four slot row, and finally the slots for your weapons. At the far left end of the four slot row is the slot for your disguise.

(1) Press "I" to bring up your inventory. To the left of your screen you'll see what you're currently wearing and using (jewelry weapons). "Jewelry" is the set of objects above weapons. The leftmost slot of the jewelry onjects is a slot for disguises. If it's not greyed out, then you are wearing a disguise.

(2) God, why would anyone use a Mac? Horrible waste of a CPU...

(3) To take off items, select them with your mouse and drag them back over into the inventory list. To delete them, drag them into the space between the inventory list and the objects on the left side of the screen. You'll get a confirmation dialog.

Thanx everybody. I found the right screen and was able to remove the disguise. Thank you Lord Kreegan, Zosia, Driosketch, et al. It may be possible I didn't finish that quest and the costume remained in place.

Lord Kreegan: Why do I use a Mac? Why do people drive Rolls Royce? Same thing, I submit.
