Is ZOS abandoned PC?

Its really frustrating to play this game in lag, and no official statement coming from ZOS regarding LAG in PvE/PvP. From Yesterday I droped from server more than 8 times/hour. Today its a epic failure for this game: During fight I toon reject to block, I backed to area where I was 10 sec ago, Ping up/down upto 21k. I can see Zos advertising their game very seriously but no fix coming, why? You launched welcome back program but server is unplayable. ZOS what u want to show among those coming players, ur broken game?

Relaunch Subscription and hire good dedicated engineers for PC (Specially who can identify problem :)).

So this month there are literally anyone who ever played the game online because of no sub and welcome back weekend

I'd wait until after June before making any assumptions about abandonment publicly

Happy to be jumping to console. Seems like it will be the more immersive of the platforms to enjoy.

Bethesda is a different game studio with the parent company Zenimax Media.

Zenimax Online Studios is an entirely separate studio. They share a parent company (Zenimax Media) but they are different entities.

The lag in PvP is unbearable. Good thing such a small percentage of ESO players touch Cyrodiil. Now the same kind of lag affects PvE too, and it is of the same severity, but it is much less frequent.

What pisses me off more than lag is being randomly sent to a never ending loading screen during normal gameplay, or normal loading screens taking 40 times their normal length.
Most loading screens for me are about five to ten seconds, but every dozen or so it takes upwards of five minutes. Then of course there are loading screens which never end. Most frequently occurring at the end of a dungeon run.
End the tedious inventory management game.

ESO is not a Bethesda's game.

Bethesda is a subsidiary of Zenimax and is the game studio Zenimax uses to hold certain licenses and produce games based on them. Zenimax decided to create ESO and, rather than place any risks on themselves or on Bethesda they did what corporations usually do when starting similar new ventures.

    They made a new subsidiary.

ZOS is not some third party company that paid Bethesda a ton of cash for the license and have no stake in the license. It exists because Zenimax, the PRIVATE company that owns Bethesda and has a LOT of stake in the Elder Scrolls, decided to take the chance on expanding the property.

Same corporate culture. Same involvement with the higher ups. Same access to the teams that work on the lore (which they have confirmed they check on back and forth with). So yes, they're going to have bugs. Welcome to the Elder Scrolls.

Trade off for me. Native controller support and UI will make it easier to relax, but having a player community that expects voice chat as the default communication medium would kill it for me.

    History

Bethesda has been a developer and publisher of interactive entertainment content for over two decades. In 2001 Bethesda Softworks became a publisher only and the newly formed Bethesda Game Studios became the developer of their games. Founded in 1986 by Christopher Weaver in Bethesda, Maryland, and moved to Rockville, Maryland, in 1990, the company has a long history of PC and console games. In 1999, Christopher Weaver and Robert Altman founded ZeniMax Media, Inc.

Bethesda is credited with the creation of the first physics-based sports simulation (Gridiron!) in 1986 for the Atari ST, Commodore Amiga and Commodore 64/128. Early games scored respectably in the gaming press.[2][3]

The company is best known for creating The Elder Scrolls RPG series, based upon the original programming of Julian Lefay. The first chapter of the series, entitled The Elder Scrolls: Arena, was released in 1994. Since that time, numerous other chapters have been released. The game's direct sequels, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim were released in 1996, 2002, 2006 and 2011, respectively. Additionally, the game has had three spin-offs: Battlespire (1997), Redguard (1998), and The Elder Scrolls Travels series.

Bethesda Softworks is also known for publishing titles based upon popular movie franchises, including The Terminator, Star Trek and Pirates of the Caribbean.

In 2004, the Fallout franchise was acquired by Bethesda Softworks from Interplay Productions and the development of Fallout 3 was handed over to Bethesda Game Studios. Fallout 3 was released on October 28, 2008. Five downloadable content packs for Fallout 3 were released in the year following its release—Operation: Anchorage, The Pitt, Broken Steel, Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta. Obsidian Entertainment's new Fallout title, Fallout: New Vegas was published in 2010.

Bethesda Softworks continues to expand their publishing into new franchises, releasing Wet and Rogue Warrior in 2010, and Splash Damage's Brink and inXile Entertainment's Hunted: The Demon's Forge' in 2011.

On June 24, 2009, Bethesda's parent company, ZeniMax Media, acquired id Software, whose titles, including Rage, would be published by Bethesda Softworks.[4] It was later announced that all games using the new id Tech 5 game engine will be published by them.

And where does it say they made ESO?
He is right that Zenimax made ESO but I am sure they collaborated with Bethesda on much of the mmo core.
Good thing Bethesda didn't make ESO. I'd rather have Todd Howard working on the single player ones.

then i guess both companies share the same employees that develop the maps and create the textures, since they are all identical to the previous TES games

Oblivion and Skyrim were made by a trusted core team of devs in Bethesda, MD. There good and know how to make a really wicked game. These were NOT the people that made ESO. ESO's dev team was pulled together from fired DAOC B-team staffers. There were some outside hires too, but the main dev team for ESO was from DAOC....None of this information is secret or guessing; its all reported on by industry information agencies.

Most of those guys along the line were fired and replaced a second time with even more untested game coders. I just want to know... Since they have abandoned the pc version, why we get a pach evry week? not even when it was p2p they where so active, infact if evryone remember till 2 months ago it was a great archivement to get 1 server manitetance evry week, so just because we dont get a major pach , because they are focusing in two more platforms, is stupid to assume that they dont care anymore.

    Bad Bad english sry...

it feels abandoned, even if it isnt. ignoring the pc crowd in favor of wholly working on console, as well as holding off on all content FOR AT LEAST 3 MONTHS is garnering alot of gamer rage. ive heard alot of people stop subbing already, they are losing money for shortsightedness

They abandon PC and will fully support console! Because PC gamers always whine on forums and are never happy. Console gamers just swap disc when they don't like something.

considering we get updates on a weekly basis, I would disagree that they have abandoned us.

A few hours downtime for server maintenance and a handful of bug fixes really doesn't count as an "update".
