Seasoned Gear: How will it effect viability of crafted/older dropped sets, RP, untraditional builds?

I dont mind gear seasons that are coming with Phase 4 of champion system (according to what I know about them at the moment), but I am worried about how will new gear compare to crafted gear (and older dropped sets) in armor and effect values.

I like that dropped gear is different from crafted as it allows player to work towards something even when they can craft everything, and I really like the situation right now as set passives from both are usefull and can be used toghter as equal, e.g. Histbar(crafted) and Footman(dropped) for tanks (yeah I play a tank).

BAD WAY to do seasoned gear:
I hope seasoned gear does not mean new armor sets every season with higher values of armor rating, better numbers on already existing enchantments or sets, that everybody will have to wear in order to be effective in end game PVE and PVP.
I dont want to see every player wearning or grinding for the same monthly-popular gear, upgrading it to legendary then doing the same thing all over again next season. (e.g. 1st season gear set with 5% dmg reduction, 2nd. season 7% dmg reduction and so on...)
This would just make few builds and gear sets really powerfull and thus only viable option for endgame content and force every player to wear exact same armor as everyone else. With that you would both greatly reduce RP value of a this game - that still has Elder Scrolls in the title (Note that I am NOT starting the "Its not Skyrim" war, I completly understand that it is also an MMO and I really like the balance of the two at the moment:)) and potientally start "If u dont have that gear u cannot play with us!" mindset for endgame content, which I doubt anyone really enjoys..

GOOD WAY to do seasoned gear:
Instead I would prefer to have just gear variety in terms of sets expanding every season - for both crafted and dropped gear - and thus making it fresh and usefull for some builds (e.g. add gear set with bonus to the effectivness of dmg shields) while older sets still remain viable for others. That way the variety of builds will expand and allow for new experimentation every season, thus having really good effects on RP ascpect and the number of viable builds. By all means, give new sets also visual changes (like Daedric Imperial armor, Ordinator armor) and you will get players excited in expectation of new possibilities every season, rather then have them depressed that all their crafzing or gear grind will soon be worthless.

As I said I have no idea about what ZOS is currently planning for seasoned gear, I am just giving you my opinion of what the best and the worst scenario would be. I hope when the change comes, it will change game for the better or at least at the same level in terms of build variety and set viability, not turn it into gear-grinding elitefest :)

Gear should just be upgradable. I don't like it much if in MMOs a player plays for several months and then e voila the old gear becomes useless and must be traded for better drops.

I like the system where someone can upgrade the old gear by using the crafting system and new patterns or crafting mats that can be found in the new zone. This would actually give players a long time perspective and it would be less about "now I need a helm drop and not shoulder, ring ..." but more about finding new materials in the world, dungeons or by capturing pvp objectives.

In general, I really dislike that we swap gear already so often while we level. If someone likes the look of a level 14 chest, then said player should be allowed to upgrade this chest.

I have a feeling this wont exist until VET ranks is removed and be part and parcel of that package.
As we have NO idea how VET rank removal is going to work,
NO ONE has any idea how season gear will coexist with other gear.

The upgrade system would be wonderful for certain dropped items already in game. Some armor that drops from bosses has that little (unique) next to the item, it actually usually does look fairly different from other stuff in game. However since they are level locked like the level 14 garafaung belt in my inventory (i always save these unique items) it functions much the same as costume attire. Seems like a cool bit of game artwork that probably gets overlooked.

I agree, I am posting this becasue I hope ZOS will see what our wishes are before they even remove vet ranks and add seasoned gear.
