After I log in to the game I get an infinte loading screen, it just wont move on past the the loading screen.

What could be the problem?

Thanks

I find the first login after a patch takes ages.

Check Task Manager, when I get this I see ESO.EXE is CPU-bound, using 50% of a dual-core system (ie. one core 100%), memory is 600Mb+ and increasing about 2m at a time .. then once it gets to something over 700Mb it starts expanding by 30Mb-ish and once it gets to over 1Gb then the CPU usage drops and the character screen loads.

I only see this once after a patch, but maybe it can happen more than that.

As above, first log in post patch takes a while. If this is not the case, then check to see if your online (open web browser).

Now, another thing that can occur is if say your kicked from the game for inactivity, if you try to log in to the client again, it may not let you. Reason is, the game needs to resolve some temp files and it can not do so. Closing the client and relaunching from the launcher sorts this. BTW, you never notice these temp file downloads as they are rather small, 1K to 20K in size and happen all the time as you are playing. Think of them as Cookies for the game and your not too far off.

If your loading from the launcher and see this all the time, then try a Repair to your client.

Finally, make sure your firewall is allowing the game and you have allowed the ports that the game uses. Search for Ports on the support page for that information.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
