I say open up the files for regular clothing to the public and let people design their own, you know for variety, and it would take the load strain off the guys that should be doing other stuff rather than making vanity crap.

This would have made the game just so epic.

Btw, deadrat will be included in IC so I guess we won't expect those items until then - if they allegedly all come out at the same time

Lol. OK. Everyone has the right to an opinion, but it's better with them.
It the best game ever made, perfect the way it is. But with mods it becomes something else entirely, and it's better.

And here I thought I wasnt at risk of buying costumes... Now wheres my top hat and cane dammit?

Also, we have no problem with Victorian like steam driven Dwemer machinery, but throw in some more 'modern' clothing and suddenly thats too out of character? Some of it reminds me of older aspects, like Sheogorath in his younger phase...

Did ZoS fire the art department and the Loremaster in one go? Those nobleman's costumes are just straight out of Steam Punk Victorian England. Couldn't they have sought inspiration from some of the ES art work from the previous games??

I must say I'd be very disappointed if they made it to the store. :( What's next, ninja outfit?

No, no it wasn't. Perhaps if the details and immersion don't matter but for most of us they do matter and so thank all that is good that Bethesda and Zeni allow the community to mod the game. Mods increase the games playability 10fold IMO without which I would have moved on to something else after a couple months rather than had the 3 plus years of solid game play I got before ESO was released.

IMO Skyrim was way more polished but still benefited immensely from the modding community. It's great that some folks like the game as is but you can't even compare modded TES titles to the modded versions. The games are totally overhauled and "fixed" so they are virtually perfect from a consumer's standpoint.

Example: Oblivion- I waited with great excitement for Oblivion. As a Morrowind fan (FYI- Morrowind needed very little modding IMO. Just a few tweaks) I just couldn't wait for the new TES. It looked great. The hype about the persistent world, combat, smart AI was tantalizing. The game was released. I was SOOO into the story, IT HAD PATRICK STEWART! Then I picked up a bow and tried killing something with it- LOLS, and everything leveled with me? What? And the AI was stupid, it didn't do anything like advertised, and the guards were still psychic. Combat was lack luster, weapons were LOL looking, there were tons of visual / graphic problems. As it was I was ready to quit playing after about 2 weeks. Just couldn't take it. I remembered I had downloaded a couple mods for morrowiind so I checked it out. I found a fix for EVERYTHING and the game became EPIC and a groundbreaking experience such I played it for years.

So when I hear folks say things like... it's "perfectly fine without mods" I have to just LOL and respond "speak for yourself."

In my mind we all want substantial new content, not just pets and costumes. But I would rather get a trickle of new things than a complete lack of anything new. And if the added income from crown store fuels speedier development then so be it.

Are these type of things really drawing that much resource away from work on larger zone content? I mean how hard is it to build and texture a few new outfits?

I have purchased a few things, and provided they are just cosmetic I will continue to do so.

Zhoyzu - Nightblade Alchemist (v15) RETIRED
    Has-No-Heart - Templar Enchanter (v4) FUBAR
Ambadassador - Dragon knight (v1) Naked with no future (returned from the naked realm to tank PvE)
Sakis Tolis - Sorceror (v10 in progress) Living Legend!

Xuhl'Xotuun - Warden Current Main as im starting the game over essentially with this character aside from crafting.

So when I hear folks say things like... it's "perfectly fine without mods" I have to just LOL and respond "speak for yourself."

I will speak for myself, and I loved it both ways. Unmodded console versions had a flair and focus that the modded pc version did not. Instead of worrying about load orders or what new house is out or whether I should go with this or that overhaul, I got to focus singularly on the game itself.

I played Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim first on PC, and was heavily into modding for the first two, a little in the third. And with each, for one reason or another, I eventually replayed on console.

So when I express my opinion that the game was perfectly fine without the mods, I mean it. It was great, even. Different, not as unique or freeform, but still great.

And of course, lets not forget that the vast majority of mods were sub-par. God mode weapons, out-of-character anime babes, pron animations, nude patches, and rediculous super houses ... these were the vast majority of all mods. Some gamers, maybe even most PC gamers, loved them. But I think that in the end, that kind of modding actually made the PC version LESS that what the console represented.

There were a few gems. Amazing quest lines, wonderfully well-designed houses, etc. Things which didn't disturb or disrupt, didn't contradict or outright throw out the story and entire world.

If the only way a person enjoys a fake world is by changing and rewriting it until it doesn't resemble itself, one could make a solid argument that they didn't enjoy said fake world to begin with, and aren't nearly as much a fan as they portray themselves to be.
Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

    XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

I agree here. If the money will fund DLC that includes new territories, quest and game modes, I'm all for it.

If it flips like Cryptic, and we only get one real update every six months ... well, that would be similar to Neverwinter, and still more than what ZOS has delivered in the last year.

Ohhhhhh aghhhhhhhh awesome yeah haven't had new content in six months, a year if you're in Cyrodil but yeah cool Ohhhhhh aghhhhhhhh

I think it's hilarious people buy this stuff. You guys know that in every other ES game these are called mods, and are free. Finally the ElderScrolls franchise figured out how to make money off mods, make the game unmodable and sell them yourself. Imagine Skyrim, or Oblivion without free mods.
