[Sorcerer] How many Restoration Spells on your bar do you need to be a full time healer?

As the title suggests how many Resto spells on your bar are needed to get the job done at Veteran levels. I've healed at <50 and honestly I think you could get away with 1 burst heal and 1 burst over time. If you have the magicka to heal when needed that all you need. The reason I ask is that I'd like to run a full light armor set with Pets and a Ward spell for the pets and myself also on the destruction bar I'd put power surge and daedric prey(for boss units). Second bar Could be Heal, HOT, Shield or Ward, Pet (either one), Pet (magicka regen 10%).

Do you think that would work for PvE? I wouldn't recast any pet but I would start fights with power surge, switch to resto and then focus on heals and positioning.

I think you need to back up off the only thing that a Templar can do and go enjoy your unbroken class.

Truly, as many as you think are fit. If you are a FULL time healer, then is much as you can. But, you need to be able to protect yourself also. So go heavy one the healing abilities put have a few for yourself also.

if you want to be a healer be a true healer, it doesent help your group if you mix up your support with dmg skills in most cases.

when i´m healing on my sorc i do have two healing staffs.
    the main healing bar contains:
healing springs, healing ward, blessing of restoration(my preference but dds prefer combat preyer :P if the buff can be prvided by someone else you can use crystal frags for a bit of unreliable dmg), magelight and bound aegis (both for the additional magica)
mutagen, soul siphon(if your group contains magica dds otherwise sth else), power surge, magelight and bound aegis on my second bar.
spelling and grammar errors are free to be abused

I think you should stop posting until you come off that high. Templar excel in all roles now PVE 100% better than Sorcs. If you was talking PVP they excel there too and you should of said so :expressionless:

I've all but stopped playing this game because of how much they screwed the Sorc in PVE and all the puritan armor changes. There isn't any armor endgame that looks even remotely appealing on a female avatar. Chin to Toes. /sigh

And just who do you think you are? Seriously you need to get a grip man. OP is genuinely asking for help so if you arent here to help, go away. I have been healing on my Sorc since the game came out a year ago you arent gonna change that.

OP, I would agree with @Tankqull here. Except yes, I use Combat Prayer instead, gives some nice defense while healing.

Im healing with a dk. The only heals I get from resto is healing spring, rapid healing and healing ward. My 2nd weapon is a destro staff with energy orb for healing and magicka regen and bone surge for nice shielding. Elemental drain for magicka regen for everyone. And rest is my own dk abilities you can sort out your class abilities. you can switch rapid healing for combar prayer. Ive not tested it yet in my case it would mean a 13% extra dmg boost. As my igneous shield gives 5% more dmg for 20 secs to everyone.

But dont take mutagen! It only instant heals on the target if hes below 20% and you cast it. If you cast it and he above 20% and he get below 20% with the hot ticking nothing happens ((( no instant heal.

At last! Somebody else finally has something nice to say about Templars! :)

My sorcerer used to be a healer, and did absolutely fine, as does my low level DK healer (so far) My sorcerer used all of the healing staff skills across 2 staffs with magelight. I think the nice thing about this game is that you can fill any role with any class. as long as you are having fun, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks :)

I'm a healer and have healed for every vet dung, vet DSA and Trials. Though I don't know much about Sorc healers "as I'am a Templar" I would highly recommend you put more than one or two healing ability's on your bar. All my ability's except 2x total are healing or support ability's.

You should spend most of your time supporting the other players than doing damage. On trash mobs you can typically do damage along with the DPS but once you get to most Vet bosses you will need to heal/support around 90% of the time. I have 26k magica and 1700 magica regen and I still need to cycle restro staff heavy attacks to keep my magica up on boss fights "mostly just in Vet DSA".

Restro Staff ability's that I believe are none negotiable.

Healing Springs - Great AOE heal but only useful if your group is in one area. "This ability stacks so you can spam it over your group or tank".

Blessing of Restro/Combat Prayer - Good burst heal, but the best thing about this ability is increasing your groups Armor and Spell Resistance.

Rapid Regen/Mutagen - Iv heard Mutagen is broke in its current state but have not confirmed. Either ways this is a good Heal you should always have on everyone in your group.

I always have my go to heal on both bars and at the same spot so if things go south while I switched out my weapons I can quickly recover.

My biggest advice is to get a good group of people to run Vet Dung with and take feedback from them. If it can be avoided don't test your healing build on a PUG group.

I use healing springs (group heal), breath of life (burst heal), cleansing ritual (removes debuff), and spear shards (help group to dps more, so in turn fights are quicker), I swap out the last slot sometimes.
IMO if have a group heal, a burst heal, and a debuff cleanser (which can be on your off weapon bar, to be used as needed) you should be good to go. But, a shield would be useful too.
