According to here: https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/26765/kw/Resolution

1080p is a target for both consoles but now that you're selling the console copy and have an expiration date on the offer it helps customers if we know what we are buying. Please consider updating this prior to May 9th 2015.

It would greatly be appreciated as we approach BETA and then actual release.

If nothing else please confirm the BETA resolutions for both this week

I doubt they will be able to pull off 1080p on consoles with the graphics in this game and not be too laggy unless they seriously cut down graphics. If they do it though, my hats off to them.

Lag and graphics aren't really related especially where consoles are utilizing different server access n info.

Maybe other issues but most games are 1080p on PS4 at 30fps. Just wondering about Xbox one

@ZOS_JasonLeavey As we approach console BETA and considering your recent posts to clarify a few console questions, can you or someone confirm the BETA resolution for each console?

I want to update my thread if possible

Is it sad that I'm happy with 720p for my Xbone games? Look just fine to me, and I literally cannot tell the difference outside of a few pre-rendered cut scenes.

That said, neither console decided to adopt 4k. Huge mistake on their part. It'll be 8 more years before I go to a 4k TV, if my primary entertainment console couldn't even support it if it wanted to.
Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

Its not sad at all. Everyone has a different set up and equipment and desires or preferences. For me, I can see the difference between 720p and 1080p

900p is not as drastic on the xbox one as it up scales very well BUT there is a noticeable difference depending on your TV, distance, settings just not as drastic as 720p

As an xbox guy who also plays PC, it's always funny to hear the Playstation fanboi's (read, irrational players who are more interested in hating Xbox or MS than any other thing) chatter about how their console gets 1080 and I don't. As I mentioned, that's really irrelevant to me.

Especially when you can show them PC's that are far better than 1080p, and they become dismissive of 'elitism'. Just irrational. I'm fine with people preferring and supporting what they have. The attacking gets annoying to me.

To the point of the post, I would expect 1080p from PS4 and 900 from Xbone, as per standard on the marketplace. I also would expect both consoles to begin to lag out in Cyrodiil and in populated cities, as is the norm.

And I expect Xbox to see less downtime due to hacks and security vulnerabilities this year than Playstation. They are what they are, after all.

Luck too you. 900 at 30fps would already be better than what my PC achieves, so I win either way, heheheh ...

That said, neither console decided to adopt 4k. Huge mistake on their part.

Even top-of-the-line systems with Titan X's can barely handle 4K games with decent fps. No way could they have built that into a 2013 console and had it cost less than $1,500. Besides, it remains to be seen if 4K will ever even catch on. Unless you have a *huge* TV or sit inches from it, that resolution is crazy overkill anyway. Even that hunking big screen at most movie theaters is still only 2K.

Personally, I think 4K is just another in a long line of gimmicks from the monitor/TV manufacturers who got hooked on the profits from those crazy sales during the transition to HDTV and thought the party would last forever. It's just another thing most people would never really benefit from, but someone is trying to get them to buy into.

Frankly, I would be happy if both consoles just got to consistently handling 1080p at 60fps. The PS4 definitely comes closer to this than the Xbox One. But neither can yet deliver it consistently.

Agree...but do realize the targets are 1080p 30fps rather than 60fps.
Just looking for them to confirm these targets as it helps when this close as far as pre-ordering and choosing as the console transfer deadline is may 9th.

Just asking them to help us out here.

4k will get here, but definitely not on this, or the next generation of consoles.

Which game was it on the XBONE that made a big craze in the market shortly after release of the console? It was a FPS that dropped as 720p. Besides all the other shenanigans that MS tried to pull, that's still just sad for the hype they were pushing for the "new" consoles.

Yeah, possibly that one. I remember one of my coworkers becoming quite upset when he found out the XBONE couldn't handle games as they had been advertised. He eventually switched to PS4, heh.

I game on all systems including have an up-to-date comp that can run circles around any game on Ultra that's available and has specs released for.

With that said, PS4 doesn't always get 1080p (OFTEN less) and XB1 doesn't always get 720p (sometimes more). My Wii U however usually gets 1080p AND 60 FPS --- more so than PS4 or XB1 LOL. If you enjoy a game, it won't matter much. I see every game in it's beautiful glory when it has amazing graphic potential (ie GTA V, ESO, FC4, DA:I, etc..) on my comp.

Last generation of consoles, XB360 almost always had 1080p and PS3 almost never had 1080p --- yet everyone was just fine. So with that said, you'll enjoy this game one way or another and both XB1 and PS4 are lacking in 1080p and ESPECIALLY 60 FPS compared to Wii U, let alone PC. However they will both get there... at least the 1080p department. I know Microsoft is working hard on changing that and if any company had the money & determination to throw at the problem and fix it, it's them.

It now seems that the Xbox one can handle 1080p quite well however the developers aren't able to use certain engines to get 1080p. Xbox should've been a lot more involved with gaming engines while thinking about their platform.

It does seem that things are more and more 1080p but there will be some 900p too as game development had already began.

It's why I keep asking ZOS to confirm tho. If something crazy happens and ps4 is 900p and Xbox one is 720p I won't move over and will prob quit on PC too. That's just me tho
