Crash and latency issue

Hi everyone,

Since I came back to the game, for 1.6 (I stopped just after Craglorn), I've noticed that my ping is unusually high : I've around 100ms in any place, and of course even higher in high populated area. My usual ping in any other game is around 20-30ms.

I've tried basic fix, like disabling addon one by one to see if one was creating this issue, but nothing changed.

I live in Belgium, and I'm on the EU server.

Here is my speedtest : speedtest.net/my-result/4288109617

I also have some crashing issue, I often get a crash reporter, most of them happening after a loading screen, but some also happen randomly.

If you think you can help, or if you need more information to help, please feel free to post !

Thank you for your help, have a nice day in Tamriel.

The latency is seemingly quite normal. I'm from Finland and have similar latency.

    As for crashing:

What kind of system do you have?
    What processor
how much and/or what kind of RAM
    what graphics card
    what operating system

Have you tried cleaning registry with some program like CCleaner.

    I'm on Windows 7 64bits,

    Intel Core i5-3570 cpu @ 3.40GHz,
    8Go RAM,
    Nvidia GeForce GTX970,

    Need anything else ?

And for the ping, other players living in France or Belgium have lower pings, so I guess there is an issue somewhere here.

Thanks for helping anyway ! :)

I was just wondering that if you had some older kind of hardware, or overclocking, you may have had slight hardware failure.

Also, if you have an old HDD, it may have corrupted data addresses. Or RAM may have a bad sequence.
Of course, these have very low chances of happening.

    Registry cleaning may help.
And if you have a regular hdd, you may want to try defragmentation.
These 2 often fix many similar problems.

80-150ping from Russia. Working as intended.

They also can simply have overall better connection. Even if by same provider.
It depends of hardware (router) and place where you connect from.

I will try these, thanks again.

Just for extra clarification: you should not do defragmentation if your hard drive is an SSD.
It will often do more harm than good.
