Request to change Emperor dethrone

As it stands, Emperor dethrone is the largest contributor to the decreased performance in Cyrodiil. The extremely large numbers of players it takes to both defend and attack a 'last stand' emperor keep takes a toll on the server felt throughout the zone.

Since server stability is months away at best, we need immediate action to combat this decrease in performance, especially since most campaigns are locked in prime time for several hours.

A rule change does not need to be permanent. Once stability improves rule change can be reverted.

I agree there should be a change, but not with these idea's.

Emperor should only depose when another is crowned. No more of this double team putting the entire pop onto one keep.

It would also make emperorships more rare.

I understand the potential for the silly moment when an emp would have literally nothing left on the map in a split decision, but it would then require the other two factions to fight amongst themselves as well, spreading forces all over the place.

Another solution would be a timer. All six keeps have to be taken from the emperor for an hour before deposition occurs. Meaning if any of the six is back capped by the emp faction, it resets the timer (except in instances where the six taken keeps would crown a new emp)

Rylana, that timer idea seems to me to be a great idea, and it would leave things almost the same, while giving the defending faction a reason to not turtle at a keep. That would in turn result in more players on the offensive factions spreading out to defend their front line keeps in the ring. They'd have to defend after that last keep falls, and the time it takes a Zerg to transit could be enough for the defenders to back cap a ring keep. After the hour timer, or maybe even just half hour, the two factions would then attempt to oust one another as usual. It might reduce the zergball lag while leaving the current system largely intact.

While turtling a keep is plan number one you could ride to the other side of the map with a 10-20 man AoE team put down full siege and flap a emp keep deep behind enemy lines

Yes it would a long ride but it would be more then sitting at keep going back and forward waiting for d ticks Zerg + zerg = lag new tatics are badly needed in PvP

Rylana's ideas are pretty good. Lower the timer a little perhaps, that would make it very hard to dethrone someone. I do think it should be harder to dethrone an emp though. It would also be more lore friendly and immersive. I don't recall any emperor's in ESO lore that reigned for 45 minutes...

I have simple solution do away with the whole emperor thing, make your rank count for something other than a title. IMHO /shrug

ppl with @ signs, please read this post. it would be healthy for the game to pay some more care to how this works.

I like the timer but it doesn't have to be too forgiving, if the emp can't pusha keep w/ a force in 30 it wasn't meant to be. Thats transit across the map w/ an army and keep taking time.

Knowing ZOS, they'll prolly do something like... kill 10 delve bosses to dethrone! Or beat 100 dolmens to dethrone!

Anything that's not PVP.

I also like Rylana's idea better than the two options i put up.

Also, lets try to get a few more people voting in here, that way theres enough response that someone at ZoS might actually look at it =X

Stability is really bad, but this is not the kind of way to go about addressing it.

Changing the game play to alleviate lag is not the way to go unless said changes make the game more fun/better at the same time.

I don't want to play a game were crucial design and gameplay choices are decided by "whatever decreases lag."

I agree that it is unfortunate that game quality could be impacted by choices made to increase performance, I don't feel that changing how dethrones work would have to result in a negative impact to game play.

With Rylana's idea we could have an exciting new feature where you have an hour time limit to try recapturing any imperial keep (as long as another faction didn't get emperor in the process). This would modify an existing game feature and add-on to it, which is not a removal.

To me this kind of thread where a proposed rule changes could enhance an existing feature while potentially having a positive effect on performance, even if the community feels its the wrong direction, sends a message for the developers on where they should spend their creative energy. But i am bias, since i am the person who made it.

If your the emp you get the buff if you loose it you have no former emp buff....be done with the emp flips.m2c

Get rid of individual emperor bonus. Make the highest scoring faction have the emperor bonuses.

(I don't think deposing an emperor only when another is crowned will make emperorship more rare, I think it's likely to do the opposite, and make each emperor's reign that much longer.)
