It's time we find a solution to those who are abusing server lag.

Seems like it would be anyone he ran with if it was so common, given that EP usually has massive zergballs. In fact though, it is not. When it is confined to a singular group causing this, I am going to cry foul.

    Your "logic" is off.

    Everyone knows which guilds are being referred to because the drama on this forums has centered around those guilds for months now. It's hard not to know.

    2 week bans. I guarantee you that this BS would stop. If it doesn't, permaban them. It is exploiting and it is griefing. Both of those are against your ToS.

    Problem is, it's impossible to tell who's intentionally doing it and who's just using the skills.

    If there were going to ban it should have been for gate hopping as that was a pretty intentional and obvious exploit. But they folded on that one too....

    Meanwhile they handed out mass 3-day bans for anyone doing Skyreach Catacombs after 1.6 launched. LOL

    I get dumber every day I read these forums. Ok, I'll stop "spamming" meteor. Oh, wait, it is an ultimate that you can only cast once.

    What's that, you want me not to use it when the pisspoor servers already can't keep track of what is going on in the battle and it doesn't register? TOO BAD. I will keep pressing buttons until it works and a meteor lands on your butt.

    Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

    Make them play with level 1 stats with soul shriven gear and no abilities or weapons, or siege.

    Honestly blaming an opposing faction or a particular guild is silly. The fact of the matter is the lag is on both sides or 3 sides if all three factions are involved in a battle. The blame game on certain groups or player is only giving zos an out, as long as we keep blaming each other and not zos they dont have to address the issue. Please stop with the conspiracy theories and start pointing the finger where it belongs perhaps then the issue will be addressed and resolved.

    What about rollbacks? Used to happen all the time. I mean sure they suck, but hey, its not like actual PvP is going on anyway. Those keep fights I have the same success I would using skills against friendly PC's standing around in Rawlkha.

    Why not just roll the server back anytime they get that crippling stand still lag? If ZOS truly cannot fix it, then at least it will ensure that no side receives any benefit.

    This would be a very good idea, if it weren't for the fact that a rollback would be wonderful for the losing team. As soon as you lose a keep, lagspam, and you get a second chance...

    Already been done. I witnessed a team lag a scroll cap so bad it rubber banded about 5 times in the space of 5 minutes and the scroll ended up back in the temple.

    Oh and of further note OP, the skills you list are a symptom. The hax are actually a true hax that can be used at their will. These players have been reported numerous times for this and other hax, since the beginning of the game. Yet they still are around. Actually I even think they get banned occasionally, because they disappear a bit, then come back - but maybe thats just real life idk.

    For those dubious about the "meteor spam' accusation, it is spam when you have multiple raids with members running the ultimate itself or the VS set. Its not that they're magically cheating and spamming ultimates within a second of each other, it's that the system can't process the requests going off, so players get the impression their abilities aren't being used and they click it again. I had the same problem happen with Storm Atronach for Sorc Summoning line. Not only that with the SHooting Star morph of metor, it's entirely possible to get multiple meteors going at the same time since it awards ult based on how many targets it hits. Combine that with almost 300ppl smooshed in a flag room, it's a recipe for disaster.

    Either ZOS needs to work on the equipment on their end or dial back some of the particle effects.

    Even IF someone was trying to cause lag as a tactic.......that's even dumber, since they lag too.

    Using abilities for warfare which they are intended to....to cause lag?

    Free discussions are great but this has crossed some kind of line in common sense.

    1. Since the removal of AoE caps, and to an extent before the removal, a smaller force, if well skilled and well-equipped can defeat a larger force. This is not easy, and requires a high level of skilled play. By outnumbering your enemy, then exploiting mechanics to make the server lag, the larger force can force lag upon the smaller force, making it very difficult to time skills appropriately and see what is happening. What this means is that the larger force can more easily roll over the smaller force without having to exert much effort. I don't know how to explain it better than that, so I hope you understood it.

    2. The issue is not healing springs used as intended, it's when it's spammed continuously my a large number of people for a duration of time so as to create lag within the server. If you use healing springs normally, even in big fights, it might contribute a bit to the lag, but that's not what we are talking about.

    3. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's happening. Maybe you're in the wrong time-frame to experience it, or the wrong server.

    The people who have deliberately done it have admitted to it. It isn't even really that hard to do. I don't know why anyone tries to come off anymore like its some impossible conspiracy. Lol

    They don't care if they lag, too. As long as it results in the opposition being unable to take their keep or scroll.

    Not quite, something was changed in the coding for 1.6 that causes the graphics for the ult to display every time you spam the button when everything is lagged out and not casting "for real" (ult not being depleted). Before 1.6 when lag like that happened, the ult graphic wouldn't display until the cast went through and depleted your ult.

    It's not just a problem with meteor, hence you see things like 1 DK pooping out 20 banners. When you see 10 meteors raining down from 1 dude in the lag, it's not that he's refilling his ult on impact, it's this buggy mechanic that is displaying the cast animation every time he pushes the button even though it's not successfully casting.

    My experience trumps yours because I'm actually in the group, or in team speak, watching it happen.

    Take Arrius last Thornblade cycle for example, with Vehemence and Pride defending. We made a huge siege set up on the top floor, to defend the stairway. Keep lags, siege won't fire, we lose scroll.

    And then we are blamed for purposely lagging the battle. Because we wanted to fight outnumbered without siege, for whatever reason.

    Stuff like this, all the time. We're in game raging about unresponsive skills and siege while you and other brave forum warriors come here to proclaim we did it on purpose. And it's bloody ridiculous!

    I refuse to believe for a second that you've ever even used siege. All I ever see is Steel Tornado spam with your name attached to it.

    Secondly, as Milky explained, purposely lagging when you have a larger amount of players virtually guarantees you the win in the fight. Maybe someone used the exploit against you guys, according to your statement.

    I'm sure the exploit isn't purely confined to the particularly heinous offenders, but they are the ones griefing opposing factions the worst right now.

    Anyone exploiting lag should be banned, either for a week, 2 weeks, or however long it takes for this nonsense to stop. This includes your guild, if they do it, opposing guilds, anyone.

    This isn't a thread naming specific guilds, it is identifying a very real problem that players are using maliciously and, in effect, ruining the PvP experiences for anyone on the same campaign as them.

    If you think that lag exploiting is not happening, you are daft.

    Or they could just fix all the spammable skills causing lag or even just remove them entirely... either way i don't give a ***... but something needs to be done to fix the ability to even do this intentionally or not. Unfortunately everyone will just cry don't nerf my *** so nothing will be done and no bans will be handed out... so we all might aswell get used to it.

    Ok i playing on low pop haderus. When battles starts while campaign on minimal population, heavy lags dropping from the sky. So ZOS please ban every DC/AD on haderus coz they cause lags.
    P.S. Wait-a-second, i use Healing Springs in PvE dungeon runs and that causing lags intentionally for mobs, thats why they can't kill my group, poor mobs, they can't report me for exploiting. Damn, i am exploiter, before these thread i thought i am good healer :'( .

    Only one to blame is ZOS that it is even possible to lagsploit. Sorry guys but thats how it is.

    If people really use AoE when no one is around to produce lag than that is just sad and bad behavior. In a fight when everyone wants to win the fight over a keep and stand on the flag casting like crazy it is understandable. I do the same and it annoys me everytime. You click the same button for 10 minutes, your finger hurts and nothing is happening except a huge flood of lightning....

    I'm now going to cancel my sub, thx for the reminder. I play EU Thornblade btw. Weekend was horrible!!

    Sad thing is: the game worked better when it launched...

    As much as I dislike the guild you are speaking of, there are many cases where there's just straight up lag that we can't control. Yes, I am EP. No, I don't zerg. But I have been a part of battles where any attempt at defense is futile because of server lag.

    There was once a case where EP was defending a keep from a large group of AD. It was maybe a month-ish ago, and it lasted a good hour. One of those defenses where both inner walls are down and we're stuck on the flags. Anyways, to make a long story longer, we eventually lost that keep due to what we thought was AD lagging us out intentionally. Everyone's ping shot up to 999+ and I literally had to remove my headset the sound of constant meteors was so obnoxious. So what EP thought was "Freakin AD, lagging us out with their stupid meteor spam." For the record, this is indeed a true story.

    Well later that day, an AD posted a video of that battle, but from their point of view, we were the ones spamming abilities. They captured meteor spam just like I had witnessed. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure everyone is aware what abilities and ultimates can cause major lag if used all at once, but I don't think it's always one-sided.

    Zos would have to actually have someone GO PLAY IN CYRODIIL to verify its happening before they banned anyone. Thats not likely to happen.
    Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough.
    Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
    Disable abilities while holding block.
    Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
    Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil.
    Fix/Remove Forward Camps. They are ruining Cyrodiil.
    Impenetrability needs to REDUCE CRIT DAMAGE. Not negate entire builds.
    Werewolf is not equal to Vamps/Bats.

    Ive just switched campaigns whenever havoc is moving in full force. Its been a lagfree solution so far. Enjoy your unique style of play!
