Lol, as others have said, red = bad, and siege engines/weaponry are meant to be OP, like they were in real life.
So don`t call for nerf, the game is so fantastical as it is, that a wee bit of realism is brilliant, IMO.

I like how balistas and trebuchets are stored in backpacks. It so real! It was actually how they were carried in RL. And it's fiction that you needed special trained crew to operate siege weapons, all was done by single person.
Also it's very good that red circles is only from enemy siege weapons!

Friendly siege weapons have same red circle and in big battles it's hard to say who is shooting, lag and aoe spam aren't helping ether. Sometimes are around you is filled with red circles and you have to play russian roulette when you dodge roll.

Fair enough, but still you are militantly resistant to the RL connotation of siege engines, yet again, I will try to explain my comment, in RL battles, siege weaponry were absolutely fantastic at breaking enemy formations and causing unspeakable damage to whoever was caught in the cross fire. That is what I am referring too within ESO, that the damage of siege weaponry really damages people caught within the damage radius.
You are bang on about it being russian roulette about where you dodge roll in the heat of battle, half the time you roll into other AoE`s or w/e is going on, I am fully aware of that, but you have a problem about a reference to RL, it is fact that siege weapons caused massive damage to enemy combatants, in real life and in this game!. All the stupid red circles, and magic getting thrown about is obviously pure fantasy.
So, to wrap it up again, siege damage = ESO, massive damage
Siege damage = RL battles or w/e, = again, massive damage
Obviously the game is not realistic, completely fantastical in almost every respect, but in terms of damage, and people getting killed in one shot with siege engines, is more or less the same for the RL counterparts = MASSIVE DAMAGE!

ESO siege weapons have reload time and accuracy of modern artillery. Medieval trebuchets could sling about two projectiles per hour at enemy positions and they were far from accurate. Balistas were very accurate but they wasn't "aoe" dmg like it showed in game. If ballista shot hit ground it did nothing, if it hit enemy it pierced through multiple enemies in 1 line.
I will say again I have nothing against siege damage. But if bring on RL dmg then there should be RL penalties also.
ESO siege weapons= supper accurate, fast reload time, massive dmg on impact to the ground and all projectiles have radius damage
RL medieval siege weapons= most them lacked accuracy, slow reload time, damage varies from used weapon and projectiles and not all of them had radius damage, danger of impact to the ground varied from weapon to weapon and ammo.
Modern RL artilery- high accuracy, fast reload time, fast deployment, huge radius damage, long range(only thing that ESO siege weapons lack)!
