I think people are dreaming if you think they will actually follow through on removing vet ranks. So let me understand this. We are going to let console players for months work on their characters only to nerf them all back to level 50 and take away all their progress. Nevermind the PC people who yet again instead of getting content get another game subsystem revamp. Third one now with nothing but craglorn in a year.

If they do that might as well polish up the old resume because this game will be closing up shop.

No it's because PC accounts that are being copied to console have VR chars so unless it's removed from PC prior it has to be on console too

Also no where was it ever suggested from ZOS that removing VR levels is dropping people to 50. ZOS did say the VR exp conversion to cp points was part of the VR being phased out.

Honest question. Why are you even playing an MMO if you don't like leveling at all? That is the core feature of MMOs. They put hurdles in the game to slow you down to keep on playing and paying.

This is a rather silly question/comment ppl keep making not just you. I don't like the boring, endless, monotonous, mind numbing, questing or grinding to be v14 and equivalent to most other pvpers in cyro. I like pvp this means I do like mmos even though i DONT like the leveling from v1 to v14. Once you do it once why as a paying subscriber should we have to do it again and agian. It is more likely to make me leave than stay.

than this game is not for you with the implemented 1440 vet ranks the CPs system resembles ...

Why should I as a paying subscriber have to level through those cadwells boring missions again when i have done it already? What purpose does it serve? other than the silly idea Zen has that it keeps ppl playing longer (i think it has the opposite effect). Simply saying this game is not for you doesn't help anyone, since success is all about bums on seats.
Just as an Idea why not bring the craglorn grinds back? I used to love the social event of travelling upper crag making new friends. Now its dead. This could be a place for ppl who have already done the quests to lvl up quicker at the same time revitalizing crag. Most of the ppl you see in crag now are just farmers.
And my point earlier too, was, just cos you don't like boring quests doesn't mean you don't like mmos.
Also if I want to complain I can I've given enough money.

I don't understand you people who feel that they shouldn't have to level up a character since they already did it once. You want to make another character? Then you have to go through the same thing you did with your first.

What is wrong with is world? Everyone's always trying to get to the top without having to do the work to get there.

I spent years getting my black belt in a form of martial arts called Kenpo. I want to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu now, but you know what? Since I'm already a black belt in Kenpo I think you should just give me that black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Oh, I can't do that? Ok then, I just won't play anymore...

That is true, however at V14 I can do all the end game stuff, at V1 I can't do much of anything so the cp may take longer but at least i will be able to enjoy the end game stuff with everyone else and not bore myself to death with these horrid quest zones that they have.

I dont understand all the people like this... i got to v1 now i gave up. u didnt even *** try. infact done even worry about it! ignore vet level, play as normal. my nb is already v2 and i didnt even try level it, just messed around in cyrodiil doing some quests and pvp. its REALLY not hard to level just dont concerntrate on it and you will be surprised. by your logic u were literally only playing to level up. would u not have been doing what u were doing (playing the actual game) if there were no levels at all?

I'm not certain that getting rid of vet ranks will fix the OP's issues.

A level 50/VR1 player with 200+ CP will destroy a level 50/VR1 player with zero CP and I can only assume that the OP's toon doesn't have any or very little CP at best.

The gap is there and changing what you call the top tier level wont change a damn thing.

Veteran ranks are going to be around until at least after console release(which means the console players are in for a shock:D)

you may as well tough it out. At least get one Vr14 so you have SOME champion points.

heck you dont really even need that many CPs right now. I do perfectly fine(good in fact, i had some great kill streaks my past few PvP visits:)) with about 74ish CPs.

just get toVR1 and speed run thru the vet content. I managed to do an entire PvE zone in literally one day just by speeding thru it. you can be at Vr14 in a month or two if you speed thru the vet content and grind out the rest.

or just grind it all out; whatever you do, reach VR14 and get some CPS!!!!!!

If they plan on removing it then they should just allow us to skip to V14 when we reach lvl 50 and be done with it while they are waiting to take it away, to me the game would actually be playable then.

I think you are making an assumption. You are assuming that they are going to just roll the level cap down to 50 and throw away all veteran progress. That is extremely unlikely. Most likely they will just add those vet levels into the normal levels. So the cap will be 50+14.

Shame on ZOS to not give us VR 14 upon logging in to the game for the first time and how dare they make us level an alt and go through all those quests again.

Oh wait..I had to do the same thing for FF11,WoW,Rift,Lotro,Tera,Swtor and Eso(twice).
So why so many are complaining?

ESO will have new content in the future. And chances are we will be able to get higher levels as well. People need to either suck it up or stay VR1 it's your choice.

You couldn't be more mistaken. For every 1 person that loves Vet Ranks, there are 5 that hate them. Vet Ranks have been and continue to be the #1 reason people quit this game. It isn't the additional ranks that bother people, it's the mind-numbing amount of time required to get through them with each character. That and the fact that this all takes place AFTER you beat the game and BEFORE you are relevant for any kind of endgame.

An almost endless quest marathon that doesn't even make sense is all well and good for the ES RPG fans playing the game, but the MMO fans (and there are a LOT of them here) do not appreciate it. People want to invest a fair amount of time while they learn their character and level up, then progress to endgame.

Vet Rank progression is not a fair amount of time. It's ridiculous.

I love all the content. Content is fine and still needed to earn/farm CP.

I would even be fine with them leaving Vet Ranks in place, but the required XP needs to be drastically reduced at the very least.

You are kidding yourself if you think ZoS will lose money by removing Vet Ranks. They are losing a TON of people every single day BECAUSE of vet ranks. This is why they introduced the Champion System. Because they admitted Vet Ranks were incredibly unpopular and needed to make drastic changes in order to retain players.

It remains to be seen if they are gonna follow through with it, but the notion that they would lose money by removing them is far fetched to say the least.

The likelyhood that I will ever reach VR14 is very slim. I am sure there are people out there like me who just want to get to end game (in my case to just PVP).

Great point. I agree with you as far as real life as my background is sports and entertainment.
I think my opinion (I want the VR levels gone) had to do with how VR levels work and the ability to progress. April 2014 was way different than anything in 2015 and as they continue to limit and extend the time it takes to progress and the lack of content...we start asking...why are the levels there at all

What most people don't seem to understand is 1 veteran level = 10 normal levels. That is because you need 10 times the exp you needed from lvl 50 to vr1 to gain one vr level. Ofcourse it levels slower! If they would remove veteran ranks and convert them to normal levels, levelcap wouldn't be 64 but 190 (140 levels from veteran ranks and 50 beginner levels).
I totally wouldn't want vr-ranks to be removed. As you won't get any drops from mobs anymore if you are 5 level higher than the zone/dungeon you are in, why would anyone team up with lower players for dungeons anymore? Now vr5 can get help from vr7 player and vr7 player even gets some drops from the run even if the dungeon is scaled to vr5, but if they would be in party without veteran levels, the dungeon would be level100 and lvl120 player would not get any drops at all.

VR levels are just a bonus. Champion points are what VR levels were supposed to be. Veteran levels will be removed eventually. I am 99.9% sure. The problem with many MMOs is guilds become so large people become pieces of meat rather than being viewed as living individuals, which is why I prefer small guilds. Me being a vampire who dislikes non-vampires makes it harder, haha. I personaly think immersion and meeting people to level with on a more intimate way will do better on consoles. Built in voice chat also will make leveling easier if they end up staying another year or so as well in my opinion. PC gaming is fun but I doubt vet levels would barely be complained about if console launched far earlier because console is more intimate and leveling would be less a concern and people can talk right away and enjoy the wonderful world ZoS has created in my opinion.

Took me forever to get my Nb to vr14. Reason being was all the pledge groups either want a vr1 to scale down to OR a vr12+ (preferring vr14 players against vr12) player. So I spent my vr leveling grinding trying to get to that level so I could participate in the pledges, the trials etc.

Something needs to be done about it. Its asking too much to grind to vr14. It is too much time invested to get max level.

I am perfectly fine with grinding. I LOVE grinding, and if it was just grinding cp I do that, but when I need my daily and can't find a group for my alt (or my main when I was leveling vr) or do a trial it makes the grind very frustrating.

A problem with scaling in ESO is that it's the wrong kind of scaling. Instead of player being scaled down to content, it's the opposite. With player downscaling, player's level is not so important, so getting a group is much easier.

LMAO because you feel the game is broken? We all had to level to VR14. They wont be removing VR ranks for quite some time. Until well after console release and once the Champion System is stable and the new players adjust to it. Being lazy and not wanting to level to max is not the same as the game being broken. Its not going to simply be a case of "poof everyone is magically lvl 50 one day" there is still a benefit to maxing out. You sound like someone in craglorn zone chat yesterday. He had just come back and asked, where do I go to grind. And my response was "grinds have been fixed, you should go quest" and omg it was like the end of the world. Ive never seen people cry so much about leveling and questing in an MMORPG. Everyone got so used to games like wow where you just run dungeons for 20 hours and youre max level. Think back to the vanilla or BC days of wow when it took you a month to get to max level.

If you aren't willing to put in the time to reach max level, honestly you should go play something else. Or if you enjoy pvp, go do some pvp and youll level up casually

I think nothing will happen when they remove the vet levels, other than names, I think you will still have to do the silver and gold at the end, instead of vr 14 you will be level 64, what do you all think they are going re-vamp the whole leveling system, I might be wrong and I don't care one way or the other but I just don't see much happening here. Why do ppl continually talk as if questing is the only thing in MMOs. I like pvp I will always find it interesting to play pvp I hate repeating quests I've already done to lvl a new idea I have for a toon. If I've already done the quests why can't I level quicker in a crag grind with better xp progress or something?
The arguments made against ppl like me who just want to pvp on an equal footing are- it's what other games do, you don't want to put in the hard yards, put up or shut up, be like me and just enjoy it, it will never be different, MMOs are all about questing.
    Unhelpful babble.
I work hard during the day and put in the hards yards in real life. I want to come home and play ESO Pvp with lots of different toons to choose from. I'm sorry that I'm sooooo uncomformist. But that's what I want.
So why can't, as I said earlier, we have craglorn made into a special grinding area, where I can grind lvls quick, and you ppl who love questing so much can keep doing that boring s**t?
