Chillrend? Kind of sad that I know EXACTLY which group you're talking about...Yup, I see them doing it all the time. they stack their zerg up, spam healing springs like mad, then run in.The whole map lags out when they do this. They've completely ruined chillrend for me
If they get banned and the lag doesn't stop, what scapegoat will you use then? You'll probably find some new guild to blame. This thread is a breach of the Code of Conduct which states that you are not allowed to engage in conspiracy theories. I'd be careful OP unless you want to get banned yourself.
You see the lag everyday, but you have no evidence to support that it's being done intentionally by these people. Using AoE does not mean they want the server to lag out, it means they want to win fights.
They were probably healing because their group was, you know, taking damage?
AoE healing outside of combat while no-one is near them serves no other purpose. They are not buffing up, they are spamming healing springs.

They were probably healing because their group was, you know, taking damage? How about you provide video evidence that clearly shows them doing this without enemies around before commenting, but then you can't because lag doesn't happen without a significant force of at least two factions fighting each other. If you get a vid of this then maybe you've proven intent, until then you're just encouraging slander and conspiracy theories.

I clearly acknowledged you think they do this when no one is around and I clearly challenged you to prove it.

Spamming healing springs is different though and this shouldnt cause this much lag, its a normal ability and its inteneded to be used often.

Aside from a few dips in FPS I didn't notice any severe lag along the lines of what occurred last week, though I think all three factions brought their A game meaning they had pretty much all their forces on the field and not in delves or hunting shards. Several battles saw significant portions of opposing factions in the same location with minimal lag. Certain groups seemed to have either made a conscious effort to dial back the meteor spam or the ebb and flow of combat just didn't allow for that situation to be replicated as it was those other few times. In any case the particle effects definitely need some fine tuning. It could be the effects in general or just the effects associated with meteor on its own.
It reminds me an awful lot of how when I used to play LOTRO, there was a zone of the Annuminas instance cluster that every time I set foot in there my fps would go to complete ***. I couldn't make sense of it because my computer was virtually a Rolls Royce of computers. I'd had it specifically built to handle high-graphics games and LOTRO wasn't nearly as high-graphics at its time. I eventually identified the problem as coming from a particular flame effect from the torches in that dungeon as well as dungeons that shared a similar structure setup. I run a much better vidcard now than I did back then so I haven't had that problem since, but at the time for whatever reason my system could not handle that particle effect.
It might be the case with meteor, as well as other high-particle aoes.As someone's referenced with world textures, there might be some redundancy overlooked in the effects itself. I kind of raised eyebrows when I read a comment from ESO live that they were 'resuming work on content', after all I'd assumed that was something they'd been working on int he background all this time, but I'd rather they get these issues worked out first. It wouldn't matter how blingy the game looks if battles are going to be decided arbitrarily by the game lag rather than player skill.
