That too. If I was given the option between being able to dye my shields and being able to put guild heraldry on my shields, I'd definitely pick the guild heraldry. I mean, I'd like to see both options ideally, but guild heraldry on shields would be awesome.but tbh, i think id rather have my guilds crest on my shield.

Yes!!!
But I also want to wear medium armor but have it look like cloth
I want to run around in a bright pink sword!
The reason weapons aren't and never really were dyed (apart from shows or displays) is that in battle the dye would wear off in no time while slicing through flesh, bone and armour, you'd have to re-dye it after every prolonged encounter.
Staves/shields? Perhaps, but axes, swords and such - no way.

Fair point and very true, but lets not stop there, and slightly unrelated, but uh, what about (and no offence to anyone), in PvP, our glorious warrior DK`s, not in heavy armour and wielding proper weapons and locked in combat, as was shown in the videos for the game, but ...Harry Potter style with bathrobes and staffs somehow surviving a full assault upon them and taking ages to die, ok ye there is magicka regen and blah blah from the game mechanics.
Im not talking about game mechanics, im talking about real life combat, they would be hacked to pieces within seconds and rightly so.
This game, although stunning and fantastic in many ways, will never be realistic, and some common sense mechanics simply do not apply.
So if people want to run about with bright pink weapons, although personally I never would, I say let them, its their game, they paid for it, let them enjoy the game for what it is, a pure fantasy.

Yeah, i know it's a game and many real world aspects will never apply to it. It's just my personal opinion. I like the way this game has somewhat reasonable and practical armours as opposed to skimpy korean bikini-suits or oversized shed-like WoW armours. (Not talking about the lore or the fact you play catpeople and lizardmen - just armours) But the realistic looking armour when suddenly combined with a bright neon coloured weapon would ruin it for me. The shine from enchantments is just about enough i can tolerate.
Again, just my opinion.

Possibly shields could have guild or faction based even town based design options unlocked after an achievement but dying or painting a weapon....no.
