So, um, after having used these workarounds, I find this issue:

The workaround only works THAT time. The very next time you mount, you have to use the workaround again and again and again, every single time.

For certain abilities (Rapid Maneuver) that can be used while mounted, the action will ALWAYS be greyed out even the next time you mount, and you still have to use the workaround to dismount. It's better to relog and sit through 2 loading screens.

For me, I'm just going to go play Don't Starve or something for a while. I'm tired of sitting through loading screens just to ride across the zone. : /

Hopefully you guys get a fix in here soon.

I'm experiencing the same issue. It's beyond annoying and has been happening for a while. I've also been having the issue where I'm unable to use any skills or to mount until I completely log out and back in.

No idea if it is connected, but it has been happening since this bug started up. Nothing like running around Cyrodiil only to enter combat and . . . get chopped down with no recourse because none of my skills will activate. Yay.

Yeah, I am truly getting tired of running into a group of mobs and going to hit my CC only to find out...

    ...yeah, nothing's working again. Great.

I get this bug pretty frequently. Sadly, I usually have to resort to logging out of my character, then logging back in.

    Fix this pls ZOS

    A wild dev appears!

We're aware of the issue, and working on a fix. As a workaround until it's patched, there are a couple ways to force a dismount.
1.) Attempting to fast travel to a wayshrine and cancelling before the travel completes will dismount a player.
2.) Opening the crown store will dismount a player.
3.) Riding into water will dismount a player.

There may be a few more ways, but hopefully those will help until the patch hits.

    @ZOS_RyanRuzich,

I have no problem dismounting on either NA or EU. Dismount works perfectly for both my Imperial Stallion and my Senche Tiger.

Opening the crown store ALWAYS works for me and is very quick and simple. I just hit "," and I'm dismounted. I'm amazed people are relogging or switching mounts to dismount. It would be nice if dismount worked, but open/close crown store is pretty quick and simple.

I'm pretty used to using Rapid Maneuver when getting around on my mounts, and once the bug hits this is disabled entirely whenever I mount until I log out.

Opening the Crown Store doesn't really help this.

@Varicite - It sounds like there's another bug, if that's the case, in addition to the one that's been fixed (dismount not working, which made it into 2.0.5).

If you're not having trouble dismounting, but a passive/active effect (like Rapid M) is being disabled/negated/bad things, then we'll bug it, but that's a different bug to the one tackled. Could you let me know if you're still having trouble dismounting either way?

    "Unable to Dismount" bug.

Ah, perhaps I should clarify what I mean.

When the dismount bug hits, all available skills will be greyed out and unavailable while mounted. This means that skills like Rapid Maneuver that are able to be used while mounted will also be unavailable.

I can use the stated workarounds to dismount and my skills will then be available again for use, but as soon as I get back on my mount (after having used a workaround, but not having relogged) my skills will be unavailable again, meaning that the usage of skills like Rapid Maneuver become unusable while mounted until relogging.

I haven't played extensively since yesterday's patch when the dismount bug was reportedly fixed, so I will do so a bit and see if it is still occurring.

I'll report back any findings that I have, positive or negative.

    "Unable to Attack" bug.

There IS a separate issue that occurs at times (regardless of being mounted) that makes normal attacks and slotted skills unavailable. However, I was specifically talking about Rapid Maneuver during the "unable to dismount" bug in this case. : )

This separate issue seems to occur (for me) most often after having teleported to a wayshrine or if the UI has reloaded due to a loading screen. These are not the ONLY circumstances that causes this "unable to attack anything" bug, but it does seem to be more likely in these scenarios.

Skills will NOT be greyed out and there is no real indicator that the bug has occurred until you try to either unsheathe your weapons or use your equipped skills. Nothing will happen.

A /reloadui has typically fixed this particular issue for me w/ great success. I do not personally recall having had to relog entirely for this specific issue, only the "Unable to Dismount" bug.

    Hope this helps.

The "Cannot dismount" bug is actually the "Stuck in Sprint" bug. The real bug is that you are stuck in Sprint mode.

As you know, Sprinting on a Horse (or on foot) greys out your action bar. This is the problem.

Prior to 1.6: if you were sprinting on your horse and clicked the button to dismount, it worked. Dismount basically worked like "Block", in that it had PRIORITY over all other actions and "interrupted" your horse Sprinting to dismount you.

After 1.6: you can now use skills while mounted, so they changed the code. In doing so, they messed up the PRIORITY of dismount, such that Sprint now has a HIGHER PRIORITY (and locks out) the dismount action.

The Fix: make the "Dismount" action interrupt Sprint again, like it worked before 1.6, so that if you hit the dismount key it overrides everything else and dismounts you.

The root cause of this bug (what causes you to get "Stuck" in the first place) is that the Sprint key (which itself is a "toggle" key) has changed in how the client/server process it.

Prior to 1.6: every instant you held down the Sprint key toggle, it would be sending packets to the server "I am being held down, I am being held down, I am being held down" and you would continue to sprint.

After 1.6: the initial "Press and Hold" is sent to the server, and you are placed into "Sprint mode". You remain in "Sprint Mode" until you let go of the key, which then sends a "I have let go of the sprint key" command to the server. Since the game has become SO LAGGY NOW, the bug is that when you take your finger off the Sprint key, that "packet" is often lost and never reaches the server. Therefore, you are now "stuck" in "Sprint mode". The only way to get unstuck (other than all the workarounds others have posted) is to re-press sprint key, then let go again and hope THAT packet reaches the server.
