Does Large Scale PVE Endgame have a future?

Currently, the meta of stats points all Best in Slot gear for PvE to be mostly in PVP (Ravagers, Cryodiil light, Morug Tong, and Martial Knowledge w/ vr14 having best chance in Cryodiil Delves/Dolmens). Aside from that are the Undaunted 2pc sets, which are 4 man.
Additionally, Champion Point gain is greater achieved in DSA and/or alt leveling. Trials is currently the worst form of Champion Point gain.
These changes and conditions don't foster to many reasons to endgame in 12man groups. So what of endgame gamers and guilds in ESO?
The poll is basically designed to see how many people have noticed this meta and lack there of and foster some attention to us endgamers. :)
P.S. I am, in fact, biased. Apologies if the poll reflects that.

It's a decent question but I don't do enough of the end game content to worry about it right now. I get too into alts and playing around doing other things. At some point maybe I'll worry about it but I think they'll have more content by then so I'll likely be ok. It'll be a while before I get bored with things.

    I don't endgame
I'm not in a position to do end game right now. I've limited time to play and I get hooked on enjoying the levelling experience, will probably make more characters before I reach max level on my current main.
I would like to try the 12 man content at some stage, but it doesn't bother me too much.

Basically there isn't enough content. A lot of people are bored with what's there because the replay value is so low. No new gear on the old content to strive for is a very bad thing and the repetition is incredibly mind numbing. Many of my friends and an entire guild of mine is bored and moving to another game for lack of things to do here.
On top of that, getting groups together to actually do the top end content at this stage is a nightmare. Pugging is silly because you won't get anywhere and joining a guild will rarely get you inside VDSA or Sanctum. Those top tier groups rarely open their doors to newcomers and will limit them to things such as AA or Hel Ra (or whatever old content is considered easy to that guild).

Great points. If I may, there is a Champion Point feedback thread where I suggest the same. CP gain at is current slow rate will make next years new players be that much more gapped to the veteran players. Big no no. I dont want to derail the subject though so I will give the link concerning CP.

You just squandered your first "other" option by asking in the option section.....your post.

J/K. Yeah, sorry, first poll. Apologies if I did not give you a proper selection for your opinion. With my joke in mind though, the post option in the thread itself can be your "other". :)

I suggested No, but it could go both ways. It really depends if Zos wants to keep this game going or not. If you want to cater to a laid back crowd and not push actual story driven content and just have the mediocre supportive content then you get the casual flaky player. But if you want your game to succeed, then you have to stay true to your fans and keep content alive and well and not wait 3 to 5 months until you offer something to keep your player base alive.

Right now, players and guilds are having problems staying engaged in the game. I believe someone mentioned pugging. That is fine and dandy if you want to help new players out, but to what extant will that last? Current guilds from launch have already done most content now, AA and Hel-Ra are like child's play and can be done in under 20 mins. Sanctum is the only Trial that groups have issues with when they try to group up fore. No one wants to run "fresh meat" through for sub standard gear. That leads to another factor, gear is crap from trials. There is no substance from anything that is dropped.

I like to do endgame content, bosses that are tough and not push-overs. A dungeon that takes strategy and thought along with research to do. AA and Hel-Ra are like cookie cutter dungeons, Sanctum takes thought and preparation for the right group but people don't seem to want to do it.

For this game to survive you are going to have to add content and get endgame back to the forefront. PvP will not keep this game alive nor will players saying, " I am not ready for endgame, I like leveling" Typical casual player who really isn't here to actually play the game just enjoy the time in pool with others.

There is so many new MMO's popping up that people will lose interest and leave this game for others. Granted with the new Buy to play model people can come back, but for what? If there is no substance, this fire will fizzle out and then left with smoldering cinders. We want endgame , we want content that will keep us engaged.

I am hoping so as well. I am in the middle of actually planning for end game experience with a couple of my Alts that I have to play through and I have actually started buying pieces of a couple of the Armors the OP mentioned (which due to the Justice system is much easier to do now than it used to be, if you know how to do it right).
Far too many characters to list any more.

Unfortunately that endgame gear meta is currently breaking pvp, at least in NA. There's a whole lot more motivation to farm AP than there was prior to 1.6, and that's what people are doing.

Once you max level the only thing left to do with your toon is "endgame". This includes large scale group content (12 man) for Trials, 4man content for vDSA/DSA, and farming pledges for undaunted 2pc sets in terms of PVE, or....PVP ranking and AP farm. So "endgame", in this theory, should be rewarding via horizontal progression (Champion Points), gear farming for tweeking your toon, or content farming for completions/achievements.....ideally a harmony of all 3.

Yes, I still like getting into Sanctum once or twice a week with my guild. The meta can always change so that gear might be worth equipping in the future, and is certainly still worth grabbing the tank gear and Dreugh King gear to sell.

VOTE: not sure, but currently doubtful

i will go with my own option here from the perspective of a long term raider: doubtful.

the current form of PVE raiding hasn't really been that enticing to me. with ESO as a lore rich, great story and mob encounter, game, i would say they could have done a bit better. if they properly push the next PVE raid, i think that could change it. there are some tweaks to gear that could be made, that furthers PVE proficiency, while rewarding time/effort invested. i don't consider raids a place to farm experience, its more of a "get the gear and meet the objective" type of content. keep in mind that good "raid gear" increases gains in experience by increasing your characters power and make you more efficient at acquiring experience-you can't have your cake and eat it too. the gear will help counter the loss in time spent that could have been put towards experience farming. i think the sets in PVP should have their own PVP twist, but at the same time not neglect the PVE side of the game as far as gear goes. but the flip side of that, PVE shouldn't have less access to the same PVE gear as PVP- some form of balance could be better struck and probably should be.
I will work. I will save. I will sacrifice. I will endure. I will fight cheerfully and do my utmost, as if the whole issue of the struggle depended on me alone.

    Hmmm, lets me try constructiveness:
    - My apologies if my definition of endgame is different from yours. Please enlighten me of your definition. All things are a matter of perspective in terms of such opinions. However, without your perspective, you have not made a point.
    - Your "Yes" is thereby as cryptic as you want it to be, but very non insightful and uninteresting.

Alas! 'Tis not my answer to the poll that is cryptic.

'Tis the set-up of the poll!

Let's start with the promise by Zeni that the "BIS" junk would be done by the crafters.....

Salty for the sake of salty?

Anyways, I will "take it from there" as you suggest.
-Crafted gear is still viable in endgame. A perfect example of this is Torug's Pact, which is part of some of the top magicka dps builds. For stamina, a 2pc wpn damage craftable would be nice to accomodate the same type of viable 'filler' for builds.
-In terms of 5pc sets, craftable still hold great value as well. Hundings and Seducer anyone?

Endgame sets should very much include crafting. But not all crafting. They never promised that all BIS gear would be craftable, just the craftable gear would be extremely viable in endgame. Maybe it is just my opinion, but I believe that to be so.

If I have "taken it from here" wrongly, please feel free to use your words. Your saltiness is getting us no where.

What would your poll be for example? Considering you feel mine does not fit your terms.

Based on my experience in other MMO´s, no. While a few guilds run raids or like at ESO trials almost daily, the majority of the players doesn't.

Not saying that this premade content must be gone completely, but a bright future it most likely wont have. Even around 2006 when raiding was at its peek in MMOs, only about 15-20% did it. Today the numbers are even smaller, so that it is understandable if MMO´s no longer put their focus on it.

You need to think about one thing for a second, why develop content for such a minority of your players, if the majority is much easier to please with just a few new zones to quest in, a housing system or cosmetics? Lets face it, its not the hardcores that keep MMO´s alive, its the Casuals so supporting them and their needs seems much more plausible.

Personally I hope ZOS learned its lesson with Craglorn, it was such a waste of ressources and I am sure many players would not have left if housing, spell weaving or world pvp would had been introduced instead.

i'd rather see more 4 player or maybe 8 player dungeons rather than huge 12 person trials trying to coordinate on teamspeak or just small group content lets face it 70% of the player base stretched to thin with different goals its hard to rally a group at times and the larger the group the harder to get a full party. im not a anti group person i've just seen how advertising and group finder dont work at all..
