Most Beautiful Province in ESO

OK I admit I've only seen the DC provinces plus Auridon and Stonefalls on alt characters, but I think that Auridon is the prettiest province I've seen so far. It doesn't have my favorite quests, but just the landscape and terrain with the colorful trees cool rock formations is to me particularly striking. So I was wondering what other peoples' opinions were as to the most beautiful provinces in ESO. Unfortunately I could not create a poll due to the limit of 10 questions for a poll and I didn't know what ones to include.

Deshaan: the view of the Tribunal from the hill to the west is awesome.

Glenumbra: the view of Daggerfall Keep from the streets below

Most of the Rift is awesome looking, with Riften being my favorite city aesthetically.

Can't say I was super impressed with the dominion zones.

    Auridon. Hands down.

I have played through all the zones, and although DC does have moments where I'm in some beautiful landscape (Glenumbra is pretty nice) I find AD has the most beautiful landscape. We don't count Reaper's March though.. we just know it as Rawl ;)

Of course, this is my opinion. It would be cool to see who may think the best landscape is a zone I do not care for (Sulfur pools anyone?)

I actually really enjoyed Rivenspire. It offered a very nice contrast from the previous zones. It was also very well designed from an environmental perspective. It was probably the most unique zone I've seen so far (I've only done Daggerfall Covenant zones).

It's a toss up between Deshaan and the stark desert beauty of Alik'r Desert. But the city of Shornhelm is the best medieval looking city.

Oh yeah! Alik'r was pretty cool too. It's where I first fell in love the goats

Auridon is generic pretty. Stonefalls is alien pretty. Deshaan is in between. I've been in all the zones and even sparse desert areas like Alik'r look good. The graphics and artwork in the entire game is great. The zone that looks like a rush job though is Craglorn. You don't get much sense of a theme there.

    Eastmarch...Alik'r
I think there is gorgeous areas in all zones...some more than others.
In alik'r its not just the sand but the glow and the dust storms...the vary land feels dynamic.
In eastmarch cracking ice and snow always brings back memories of dungeon siege from eons back.

The wildlife and fauna helps define a land.....but its the atmospherics that give a land soul and blow me away.
Mist clinging to icy floors and climbing your legs in icy caverns
Dust storms and heat haze in the desert.
    mist/fog in torrential downpours
white outs in snow storms with that crystal sparkle on everything
..these are the thing that raise a land up from gorgeous to breath taking.

oh...and watching the sun set on the sea with a crystal clear sky , where you can see for eternity as the waters lap on the sand around your feet.
Has anyone done that....just sat on the beach and watched the occssional bird flying overhead and the crabs wondering by ?

I'm also from Canada. What is this "winter" thing you speak of? I'm not familiar with it. Or do you mean that slightly cooler slightly more rainy period between autumn and spring? >:)

I'm not entirely sure, but I may live in the only city that has hosted the Winter Olympics without actually having snow that year... Good thing all of the outdoor events were in Whistler!

I like them all. They each have their own style.

If I had to pick a favorite, it would be Stormhaven, no make that Auridon, or it could be Deeshan or perhaps, forget about it, I like them all.

Yeah, I also have real trouble picking between them. Part of me says Auridon, but part of me says Glenumbra, but part of me says Rivenspire, but part of me says The Rift, but part of me says... Man, I just don't know.

    ...

Ha, thought this was just an idiosyncrasy of my own.
Gaming in zones with snow during a Canadian winter always depresses me.

Personal favourite zone is probably Cyrodiil -- so many different types of landscapes across the map with some of the most amazing sprawling vistas.

I really enjoyed the look of Reapers March when I got there... possibly because I was tired of seeing forested area for the three previous (Veteran ranked) zones. "There is a sky!!!"

Oddly enough I really liked Bangkorai, and how it's two different climates in one zone.

Cyrodiil reminds me of the time I got the wrong prescription on my glasses. I saw a girl I thought I liked, she looked really good from far away, but as I got closer, the reality hit. So, I will agree that Cyrodiil has some nice vistas and landscapes, just up close the lack of detail takes it out of the running.

    I'm with Cadwell: Coldharbour.

For me that's the only zone that's definitely not in the running. Don't get me wrong, I think they did a good job with the zone, I just find Coldharbour looks so depressing that I really have trouble forcing myself to quest there. I mean, that's kind of a good thing, as Coldharbour should be a depressing place, but I definitely don't find it beautiful...

Am probably just biased towards it due to spending so much time there exploring all the different areas.

Also grew up in prairies and live on open marshland though, so it could just be my favouring of wide-open spaces.
Lots of the areas in other maps feel kind of compartmentalized or claustrophobic to me.

Tough to pick just one. If you like lush forests, AD tops everything. I don't though. I started EP, but I'd have to rank the alliances in the order of DC, EP, and then AD.

I agree with you, I really enjoyed questing in the Valenwood zones. I know a lot of people feel it was an oversaturation of bosmer; but I, as a bosmer, really enjoyed those stories and the scenery.

    I also really liked Auridon.

I can appreciate Coldharbour for its beauty but I also found it kind of depressing. It was a really, really well done zone, though.

And as an aside, as another Canadian, the city I live in now is more of a gross, dirty, icy mess during the winter so I really miss the true "great white north" of where I grew up- and enjoy the Skyrim areas immensely!

Auridon, as others have said. I really want Summerset to be in the next TES game, I'd really like to see that area with the level of detail they put into Skyrim.

I liked Greenshade too, it was a nice midway point between the grahtwood artstyle and the more open areas of the rest of the game. The "gothic" theme of Rivenspire was also very cool.

Auridon is very pretty and colorful, but for some reason the entirety of Stormhaven was just beautiful to me. And the northerb region of Rivenspire was also particularly beautiful.

A few months ago I was questing with a guy I like through the AD Cadwell's Gold (EP) and stopped to admire the scenery in Grahtwood. We were on a cliff overlooking the sea with the sun off in the horizon. Tons of screen cap material everywhere you go.
