Wow, really? Are you serious? After all the mass EP trains we saw on Thornblade your coming up with this?!?!?! Don't feel so good when the tables are turned eh?
Haha so much this. The EP tears about Azura are hilarious.
Oh yeah, the weeping, the crying, the gnashing of teeth.
Wait, no.
Pointing out the blatant hypocrisy. But hey, you guys are gonna get your easy win, right? That's all you wanted. Night cap a buff server away from AD and then keep doing that until you're first. It's only since the last Thornblade campaign ended that EP have shown up in any numbers.
Implying I play on either of the 30 day cesspool campaigns.
Agrippa, can you please explain to me this buff server entitlement mentality? Why does any alliance think they deserve an entire map all to themselves while the rest of us pack in TB like lagged out sardines?
Ask the people who kept Chillrend blue for so long.

I don't go to Chill. What time frame are you talking about? If there were DC camping Chill and holding it blue I would shame them and tell them to spread out and try to make other campaigns competitive, too. I think it is ridiculous any faction thinks they should hold any campaign hostage. This mentality needs to be shamed, altered. It is exactly WHY Thorn was such laggy garbage.

Chillrend turned and stayed blue back in... heck... October?
There was a concerted effort by a very, very large blue guild to turn and keep it that way. The competition left and it languished. There were folks who would check/camp it daily to make sure nothing switched owners, and if you did, the self appointed guardians would return and stop whatever was going on.
It only very recently turned around. This is due to a combination of a) players spreading out from Thornblade and b) b2p bolstering the pvp community's numbers.

Yeah it was this way until about two months ago, when people started spreading out. Even then it took two campaigns for them to leave as their efforts were futile.
FWIW, I know of at least one huge AD guild that used similar if not the same tactics on Azuras. Wouldn't surprise me if it was/is the same on Haderus as well...

?? Or should we all admit spreading out to the other servers ZOS has provided for us is a good experiment to try to abate the horrendous lag? Having one main campaign where all the major fighting is was not healthy gaming. Can we at least admit that?

Haderus is an AD locked server. This has to change and I don't much care who I offend in saying so. We all want to play and just have fun. TB was a nightmare we all need to learn from. And I wish nothing but the best of luck and have mad respect for the DC trying to make Haderus competitive. I know who you are and I know your headache there and I salute you.

I've already stated such previously.
Let me re-state my position on the current state of the PVP community / population --
Thornblade dying may be the best thing that happened for ESO. The same old, same old was getting stale and it had gotten to the point where the same people fought each other over and over again with the same final results.
Things needed to be shaken up. B2P and the end of the last Thornblade cycle coinciding was fortuitous and allowed for people to make choices they never would have before.
Stacking an entire faction's population into one campaign is deeply unhealthy for the game, just as bad as stacking one full faction into a keep or a milegate. It's unhealthy and contributes mightily to the lag, which no one enjoys. Splitting up the guilds and teams to face each other on different campaigns with different opposition makeup allows people to stop hating each other and loathing their opposition and maybe have some fun while facing them.
There needs to be more than one campaign that's active (like when it was Wabbajack and Dawnbreaker -- one of the healthiest moments in the PVP community's lifespawn). There needs to be a release valve for people -- not just a queue and buff servers that get camped while waiting. Chillrend and Azura's coming to life is a good thing. And once the red tide abates a bit more in Thorn (it's already starting to unlock earlier and earlier with shorter and shorter queues), it can come alive again as a real campaign once more.
And that's what I think.

I have said before and will say again I think you and I are usually on the same wavelength and I love your posts and humor and charm.
But I think this issue of "the entire faction on gates or in keeps" causing problems should be explored in more depth. As a leader I have often faced insurmountable odds when trying to take back a home keep or scroll for my faction. Should I just walk away in those instances and *not* use my reputation as a leader in zone to rally the faction to our objective and bring competitive numbers? I think this is expecting a bit much. I call for numbers ONLY when the circumstance requires it. I don't call for 60 DC when I can clearly see I am up against 24 or so ad/ep and I have 24 of my own men. I call for help when the enemy is bringing large numbers storming through Chalman gate up to bleakers. This is what a good leader does: rally the faction to move to a defensive position. Are you suggesting we not defend? Not form objectives and groups based on the enemies presence in or on those objectives?

Thanks for the compliment but it was not a large guild that held Emp in Chill from Oct to Jan. Since I don't remember seeing you in the campaign let me help you out with a history lesson. The only reason we stayed as long as we did was because the other Alliances took as long as they did to bring numbers to the campaign. We had visits from Alacrity, Decibel, Havoc and IR in addition to the homed EP guild. A red guild you are familiar with kept coming to test the waters to work out when we didn't have the numbers on the server to flip the map. Once we lost Emp and the campaign ended we swapped campaigns. We didn't like playing on a 'buff' server but we also weren't a guild that would come in take Emp and then not defend it.
Personally I like that more campaigns are becoming competitive and that despite a few hiccups that have already been mentioned in this thread we aren't having the same problems as regularly happened on Thorn.

WarrioroftheWind_ESO wrote: »Well I totally called it. I go to work for 4 hours and come back and EP's lost about EVERYTHING gained since yesterday. It's very poorly telling when 3 bars worth of EP can't unseat 2 bars of DC from Ales meanwhile 1 bar of AD snatches Roebeck and Alessia with virtually no resistance. You could count on one hand how many EP bothered to defend the ring keeps down south. I almost think EP performed better without the holier-than-thou 'pro' guilds from Thorn.
There's just an attitude infesting pvp in general that it doesn't matter if you win or lose, it's all about points. points points points points. There's been multiple suggestions fielded to reduce lag and they've all been sneered down by the same 'elite' crowd who doesn't want things to change because then it'd mean they'd lose out on all those free points. I'm talking about the people who say things like "if you flag Glademist you're spitting on free points" meanwhile Tiberius Tryton's raid group is mopping the field and an entire raid composed of members of that same EP guild that favors farming sits on its ass in the shadows under a tree while DC annihilates all the 'lowlife casuals'.
ZOS should consider alot of the suggestions fielded by players like Princess and Rylana and Agrippa, as well as a harder diminishing return penalty to eliminate 'farming' alltogether. Sure you can brag that the top 10 of the EP leaderboard is mostly comprised of members of your pro farming guild, but that's only because you sit on your ass doing nothing but farming points while the rest of the map burns around you.
Funny how you act like some of those suggesting changes aren't the same ones who run in the "farming group" you call out. I'd encourage you to do some research on what guilds are at what keeps and when, because we are obviously not playing the same game or map. We aren't all online at the same time, and sometimes a smaller group won't turn the tides the way a full raid would. I'm not at home tonight, so I can't say what is going on. Don't go throwing around accusations without substantial proof. The majority of my AP, and that of many people I run with, comes from successful attacks and, most often, defenses, of emperorship keeps. On top of that, it seems to be that some people focus more on home keeps than ring keeps, and then get upset when not everybody is following what THEY want to focus on. News flash- not everybody wants to focus on buffs alone. Some of us actually prefer trying to prevent the other factions from getting emperorship, or trying to defend our own.

Well EP did a fantastic job of that tonight. I missed out on everything from 6pm central to 10pm central but apparently EP lost the ring and half its home-keeps in record time both due to lack of participation as well as usual DC zerg shenanigans. I'm more likely to see lvl 10s and 30's defending the last emp keep than any of the other high-end lucky charms. The game is structured in a way that it incentivizes horrid behavior and rewards cheap tactics. All three factions are going to continue having to put up with this BS unless ZOS steps in and does something, because I know some of these pro guilds aren't going to do *** themselves that'll compromise how much AP they can get while Chalman and BRK go down simultaneously.

DC zerg shenanigans?! You can't be serious. Ep lost what they lost because they stormed across the map earlier in the day when the other factions pops were low and they took every scroll. Then as DC pop began to finally rise in the prime time hours, ep arrogantly continued to push on ales and glade with HUGE massive big groups of ep players. Then they sat on defense of glade with HUGE numbers for I don't know how long.
So now DC pop is rising and the guilds there who had faced insurmountable odds all afternoon are rallying troops to get OUR scrolls and keeps back to raise faction morale....and you come here and actually call this "DC shenanigans"????
You ep are real pieces of work. Your entitlement mentality is absolutely sickening. You're not entitled to DC and ad scrolls. You're not entitled to take them and expect DC and AD to sit at their gate keeps and quiver in fear at YOUR Zergs and do nothing to reclaim what is theirs.

The point completely flew over your head I think. I think it's wrong that DC feels the only way they can win is dogpiling the flag instead of annihilating any trace of resistance like I've seen with other breaches. At the same time I feel it's wrong for a EP guild to tout itself like it's the sole reason AS isn't a "DC buff server" anymore because of them and them alone. DC is already a shoein to win the camp once it ends, and the only real opposition it faced mid-camp came from AD which sort of crumpled up and died at some point. The other day I noticed they tried to snatch the Mnem scroll and stage a poorly-executed scroll farm at the winery way up north rather than even attempting to run it. If EP lost everything damn right they deserved to. You didn't see what our chat looked like. 3 bars at ales couldn't break it, meanwhile scouts are screaming for reinforcements at roebeck and alessia and they were actually told to SHUT UP, because it's okay for them to sacrifice ring keeps. I've seen better enthusiasm for defense from subvets lately, bless their hearts. I always make it a point to rez anyone even if they're lowbies. At least they try.
But what's going on in AS and Thorn and Had isnt' competition in the slightest bit. You have people screaming that we need moar servers because so many of them are poplocked at the same time there's clearly empty gaps in alot of the factions. EP is nowhere to be found on Haderus, AD about nonexistent on AS even in primetime, and of course DC avoids thorn like the plague. Thorn is basically EP's comfort blanket, and they don't want to give that up because it has their snuggie. AD and DC are guilty of the same thing. The lag is one major issue out of dozens, but it certainly isn't going to fix itself if factions refuse to distribute across clearly open servers.

You're not in DC ts groups and hence have no way of knowing what our directives are. Of course we stack flags when the time comes to stack the flag. Every faction stacks flags. Ep is notorious for rushing in the breech and zerg bombing a flag with a thousand meteors. I personally don't like dilly dallying at the breech because it only affords the enemy crucial minutes to reinforce.
If it makes you feel any better we also yell at the DC pugs to stop worrying about Roe and Nikel. But when AD seems determined to push Ash while Ep merrily holds their scrolls what can we expect?
I can only share with you our experience from our side. A great majority of us rallied up to get our scrolls back. It took a long time to accomplish. Once we got one scroll back it seemed ep weakened and getting scroll 2 was a bit easier but was still a fight.

Just like to point something out -- There really isn't any safe way to use the 'nightcapping' or 'off hours capping' card. AS has, repeatedly, been night capped by all three alliances over this last two week span. AD's probably been the least offensive in regards to this.
Making up a strawman argument about how EP feels entitled to the scrolls doesn't help your point either.
Jahyn's venting that a lot of EP didn't help with the defense. Shouldn't you be happy they weren't?
