Weapon damage progression with upgrades

Hello,

I've got a very specific question to ask.
To keep it clear I'll use an example.

I've got a green (magical quality) bow that has 799 damage (weapon damage).
At the crafting window it shows that if I upgrade it to blue (rare quality) it will have 834 damage (which is an increment of 35).
Now. I don't want to upgrade it to a blue quality and still want to know how much damage will it do at purple (epic quality).
Can I assume it will have 834 + 35 = 869 damage, or is there a formula that allows to calculate that?

Sounds about right. I frequently go to Blue or Purple and I don't see the damage increase going up Exponentially or Arithmetically. For the most part I am paying attention to the increase in the Set Bonuses that come from Improvements. In fact, the only reason to ever go beyond Blue, or even Green if your still leveling 1-50 is to boost your Set Bonuses. Now, of course if you are a Stamina Based character, and your picking the Skill Morphs that scale from Weapon Damage, then Purple just may be the way to go.

Note, if you ever get a Blue Weapon as loot, take that to the crafting station and stage it like your going to go Purple on it, and you can see the exact numbers.

And, once you unlock the Temper Passives, it just takes 3 Blues to increase to that level, and 4 Purples for that level. So, these kinds of experiments are not as expensive.

Another to note, even if you unlock the Temper passives so you use less tempers, if you don't put enough in to get a 100% chance, you have a 100% chance to fail and lose the items and the tempers.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
