Right now on the US Playstation store "The Elder scrolls - standard edition" is listed to PS Plus members at $53.99. That converted to Stirling is £37 give or take a few pence but in actuallity is listed at £47.99 , Basically it's 30% more expensive here than in the states.

Also the Imperial edition there is $71.99 conversion to Stirling is £50 . The price here for the Imperial edition is £89.99 (or $132) a whopping 60% more here in price than the US, give or take.

I WONDER, ?? Given these prices, If I could purchase the game in the States and ship it over and run it on the US account cheaper than getting it here lol.

I don't know and can't talk for the people who will undoubtedly pay for this but, I certainly will not. !
It's majorly the same code and I see no reason for the extorsionate pricing here, and feel that this should be addressed SOON!

Q.
So, to the powers at be, are we going see a major reduction in price now too. Also will we too see this on PS Plus as in the US.

The game is probably manufactured here in the US and then shipped to you. Your inflated costs include the shipping fee's most likely.

I doubt there is any shipping fee's given todays technology. It's very simple to send CD Images and mass produce from that.

Interesting, as the price to transfer to the console is L12.99 in Britain and $20 in the US so that is about the same price.

Tariffs and taxes are probably the main reason for the differences in the game purchase price.

Changing the subject slightly, but i was in GAME UK earlier today killing time and i could not see a single PC copy of ESO or Tamriel unlimited in the shop.

I noticed pre-order copies on the shelves for both PS4 and Xbone. Curious.

Tax will account for at least part of that - both the fact that tax will be different in the two regions and that in the US it's usually the pre-tax price that's shown (and apparently everyone just gets used to mentally adding it on to figure out the real price) whereas in the UK the price you see is the total, including tax.

But I doubt that would account for the full difference, and especially not the disproportional pricing between the two versions. Neither would shipping, if all the stuff I buy off Amazon.com is anything to go by.

My best, somewhat cynical, guess is someone's trying to take advantage of the difference in currencies and hoping most people won't take the time to compare.

Unless GAME have gotten a whole lot more honest and less money-grabbing in the last few years (and that seems unlikely) this will be because Zenimax (or possibly Sony and Microsoft) have paid for space for their games on the Xbox and PS4 shelves but don't consider it worth paying for spots for the PC version. They may well have PC copies but they'll be in the lower shelves or the ones in the middle, mixed in with a whole lot of other stuff, not on the 'display' shelves.
