Armor Passives My Guild Would Like To See to Improve The Cyrodiil Play

Hopefully Mr Wheeler sees this and considers it.

So my guild got together and talked about something that could be added to each armor type to really help its play type in Cyrodiil and even fix some other issues at the same time. this could be effective everywhere or just in while Cyrodiil.

The following could be implemented in 2 ways. One option could be adding these passives under the different Armors Passive Skill of using a set of 5 or more pieces. The other option could be adding a passive to both Assault and Support Skills line giving a passive benefit of wearing 5 or more of a certain armor type with different skill levels up to maybe 4/4 points into it at a certain alliance rank.

Here is what we came up with

Heavy Armor = Siege Mastery. Wearing a set of 5 or more heavy armor pieces will increase the damage you do with siege weapons by 20% and also decrease the damage you receive from siege weapons by 20%. We understand that recently siege damage was drastically increased so to balance this, the overal damage from siege weapons could first be lowered by 20% to currently put only heavy armor operators at the same siege damage we see now, but they would also receive 20% less damage. Many people felt that Light Armor and medium armor have many tools to excel at ranged combat in standoffs and keep sieges and this would give the heavy armor users a way to engage as well with some purpose besides just being a tank.

Medium Armor = Stealth Tracker. Wearing a set of 5 or more medium armor pieces removes the sneak movement penalty and increase sneak detection range by 20%. many people feel that medium armor is really suppose to excel at sneaking but in reality the other armor types are just as effective at hiding, ambushing, and moving in sneak. We feel that a medium armor user should be able to find those that do not use medium armor a little bit easier. currently all 3 armors are equal at this. We also feel that medium armor should be able to move faster so they can strike and NOT be forced to be a vampire or use a set bonus for this which takes away at the ability to use a set bonus more effective at combat. There would still be plenty of incentives for heavy and light armor users to use the Night Silence Set as well as anyone to be a vampire.

Light Armor = Magika Presence. Wearing a set of 5 or light armor pieces will increase the damage of area magika abilities by 20% as well as decrease the damage you take from area magika abilities by 20%. We feel that that for most area effect spell the damage is not high enough to use. liquid Lightning was brought up many times as a spell people would really like to use to change the tide of a keep siege but just didn't do enough. making light armor stronger at using these spells while also being resistant would help the person who want to be a powerful mage and have the ability to lay down that key spell which could be the difference in saving a keep. But also NOT be able to kill any single target faster than possible now as that is already something that is very strong.

Thanks

Would the bolded bonus stack with Detection Potions, Radiant Magelight and/or Way of Air?

Would the Heavy bonus stack with Heartland set on top of the suggested reduction to overall siege damage?

    Few things up with that.

    1) There is already already a heavy PvP set that reduces siege damage by 20%. So under the proposed changes these would stack and the tank would take 40% less damage wearing that? Isn't that a bit OTT?

    2) If medium armor gives the same bonus as vampirism (remove sneak penalty) then what happens to vamps? The constant risk to get one-shot by fire siege is offset by what benefit? Batswarm? The changes made recently already made vamp a disadvantage in PvP. This would make them obsolete. Everyone is a werewolf already for the stam regen.

Also medium already improves sneaking by decreasing the cost and detection radius. Medium IS the best armor for sneaking and movement. I run out of stamina in my light armor very quickly when I sneak

    3) Magicka AoE damage (except Wall of Elements that was hugely nerfed) is fine. We don't need a 20% damage boost to Impulse, Talons etc. We've been there already, it's not a good place m'kay?

So, good ideas but not for me I'm afraid

Numbers too big. Instead of 20%, make it 5% and it may work. Except sneak detection: leave that out.

    Just my tupence.

If you can stomach the PvE, hop over for a while and level up your Legerdemain skill line.

4/4 Improved Hiding reduces cost of sneaking by 40%.

The bonus stacks with Medium, so it is still the best armour for sneaking though.

I'm down for losing the stealth speed penalty it's the only reason I'm a vamp don't just the powers or ultimate Soul Tether works must like bats and cloak to mist hell cost the same on both

Some changes the numbers are far to big also you should have to be fully committed so 7/7 for the bonuses

Yes, I am currently at 30%. This lets you move for longer periods of time which does make medium armor the best for sneaking but it still doesn't help the other problems. You can watch someone in HA or LA go into sneak but still not be able to find them before they find you, there is no bonus to detection, as a MA (sneaky person) you should be able to spot a non sneaky person first. Also the movement speed is a huge factor and MA gains no benefit to this over the other armors. Being a Vampire or using the Night Silence set alone with HA or LA will make you more effective at sneaking in PVP than what MA offers. So those can basically completely offset the whole point of MA for that play style. I have alot of firends that dont want to be a vamp but are JUST for sneaking. Even after all the vamp nerfs you still see more vamps in PVP than non vamps. the sneak speed is currently the main reason. Vamps were suppose to be something unique that when you encountered like 1 out 10 people because even tho they had weakness some people would just really like their advantages. Currently those advanatges still far out weight the weaknesses. Right now most people play a vamp for sneak speed not because they want to play a vamp.
