Ahoy.

I was taking items into and out of the guild bank (specifically, a pair of costume gloves), and when I went to check, the item was gone.

I checked my personal bank (in case I accidentally opened that instead of guild bank), checked my inventory, my equipped items, the guild bank again... nothing. It's like the item was destroyed in transit.

Is this a known/common issue? Is there something I can do to prevent this from happening? This particular item probably wasn't very valuable (a quick Google makes me believe these clothing items can be found when stealing from containers), but I really don't want to accidentally destroy something that is. The only thing of note is that the list of items seems to take a while to load, and sometimes I need to close the bank and reopen it to get the item list. I did not attempt to deposit the item without the list populated.
